Omega General Help / Auto Box error code
« on: 16 February 2009, 14:32:57 »
Hey folks - I've had a search for this in the forum but can't find it - so apologies if its cropped up before (I'm sure it has)

Anyway - got a "Check Automatic Gearbox" warning on the display, all the selector lights lit up and car drove like it was stuck in 4th, consulted manual which says just drive the car, selecting gears manually and take it to VX to diagnose.

Anyone had this experience? Is it an easy fix?

Cheers  :y :y

failing that - anyone want a 2001 3.0 elite?  ;D

Omega General Help / bonnet release - not again
« on: 09 August 2008, 09:45:53 »
I just managed to kick off the bonnet release lever under the dash yesterday - did exact same thing to my old GLS estate - grrrrrr

must be the way I dive into the car

does it just click back in place? old car i never bothered as i was already trading it in - just kept a pair of pliers in the glovebox to pull the wire....so to speak ;D

doesnt LOOK broken - but it seems to be a flimsy design  :( >:( >:(

Omega General Help / Anyone know a good A/C place in Perth area
« on: 28 July 2008, 08:42:26 »
I think my AC is leaking - anyone had a good experience with an AC expert in the Perth/Dundee/Fife area?

Took it to Halfords who relieved me of £50 with no discernable difference - I said - this is still blowing warm.....
Halfords guy "yeah it only goes down to 16 or 17 degrees"
Me: "I've had AC before m8 - it really should feel cold - it needs to be way below 16 or 17 degrees - that is the temp the interior reaches, not what comes out the vents"
Halfords guy: "well the manager isnt back till monday"
me: "see you Monday"

hehe  -  wish me luck getting £50 back   ;D

Just bought an old bin of a 2ltr GLS estate as a quickie replacement for my dead Galant :(

The Omega has a radio that forgets everytime you switch off, has some electrical issues with the engine too, no CD, no AC, overheating, losing water, irregular revving at idle, overpriced (£500)

BUT

I love it already!!!!!!!!
The handling is so sweet!! :y

Off to look at a much newer 3ltr Elite (i need toys!!) - Omegas - where u been all my life???
 ;D

Yes, sadly I'm selling the mig - looking for a diesel estate one to replace it with - so I'm open to swaps  :y

The car has done just under 93000miles (92606 as i write this)
MOT'd until 22 June 2010 (passed easily)
TAX'd until 31 January 2010

all the usual elite spec - everything works fine EXCEPT!!!!

1) drivers heated seat - used it once and it damn near burns your back - so never touched it again!
2) Rear sun blind doesn't lift - never bothered me - so it was never sorted - the switch does make an electronic "click" - so maybe someone handier with a screwdriver can free it
3) the bonnet release lever handle got kicked off (by my size 12's getting in) put it back on 3 times and kicked it off 3 times almost immediately - so i use a pair of pliers to "ahem" pull the wire as it were - still have the handle
i think thats all - i'm making it sound like a binner - trust me its not - i love this car - cream leather, aircon, fantastic Bose sound system, satnav (needs cd), electric everything you know the score

offering to OOFers first before it goes on general release to the tyre-kickers  ;) ;)

pearlescent "persia" colour - looks lovely when washed

OK peeps - heres the Elite I bought the other day - feel free to comment!!!

After careful consideration...I would say the colour is "Dark Metallic Chocolate" although it was advertised as "red" - juries still out :)

havent seen it (unlikely too as I don't recall Mr Bay ever making a decent film) but came across this interesting little comparison from an earlier film by the same director

hopefully he didn't bill the production company for those stunts twice, but i do admire his recycling  ;)

I understand he's not popular in Englandshire (judging by the hate mail he generates as read out on radio 5)  ;D

Good.

Hope he wins a slam one day - he's easily good enough, and it would certainly give the whingeing south something else to moan about  :y

his refusal to support the strike action will effectively end his, admittedly short and dismal, tenure as "Labour" leader. No guts, no balls, no ideas....banana man - you're up  ;)

Lloyds to cut 15000 jobs "the bulk" in the UK middle management.

Presumably the £2.2bn profits were an entirely manufactured figure boosted by the banks famous tax avoidance practices then and really they're struggling?

Any serious boxing fans think Haye has a chance? Thought not...but I'll wait til the mugs start pouring money on Haye....let Klitschko slide out to evens then dive in  :y

on the eve of massive walk outs and strike actions as an increasingly disenfranchised workforce, belittled by the millionaire newspapers owners and government wonks, watching in desperation as the cuts and belt tightening continue to exert a disproportionate effect on the poor, presumably, given all that, our dear chancellor would consider it a tad "unseemly" turning up at wimbledon, centre court, royal box no less! fanning himself with a copy of H&H no doubt whilst sipping a chilled Pimms. I'm quite sure Gideon would almost certainly pass up the generous invitation, and spend the normal working day worrying about the state of the economy, the widening gap between rich and poor, the general strike wouldnt he?

Imagine my surprise to see that half sneer/half glaikit gaze peering over centre court....the Federer and the Murray quarters on centre court no less?

I can only assume that Mr Osbourne is merely seeing what taking a day off is like for the countless thousands either striking or being forced to take a day off to look after the kids in order that he's in a better position to see what real life is about....thats it....right George?

Jesus Christ, what a superstar  :y

How exciting was that? carnage at the first corner, then the Lotus swept through the entire field to claim victory on the last lap, despite the heavy shower halfway through - brilliant  :y

Anyone else play F1 2010 on the PS3?  ;D
