« on: 10 October 2011, 17:40:41 »
I want to take the opportunity to thank DLK for the work done on my car,its now running a 100% better than when I dropped it off.I often get asked why do you go all the way to DLK with your car, well thats quite easy to answer 'I wouldnt trust anyone else to work on my car,I know when I go to DLK any problems are going to be rectified correctly'.Any members needing any work done on your omega look no further this is the man and I along with many other omega owners would 100% happy to recommend DLK.Cheers DLK your a star :y :y

Omega General Help / running like a bag of shite on LPG
« on: 14 May 2009, 19:05:41 »
cars been running fine on petrol but awful on LPG,took it back to LPG installer yesterday and left it with him,I have rang him at 5:15 today to see what is happening and he told me he had changed the themostat and it is now running fine.Apparently from what he told me the thermostat was not working properly which was affecting the vapouriser.I have since spoke to Loo-knee or whatever other name hes now known by and we are a bit suspicious of what the gas installer is saying,so would like to know if this guys just filling me with shit, anyone with knowledge of LPG please :y :y :y

Omega General Help / Inlet manifold
« on: 04 May 2009, 11:52:25 »
Following the weekend at York,my air leak was diagnosed by Marks DTM Calib as drawing air at the inlet manifold,it was stripped down and below the inlet manifold is a black plastic part when this was removed the gaskets on the underside were in a right state, unfortunatley at the meet could only get hold of one gasket. The thing I need now is to get the part number for these gaskets so that when I go to VX they know what gasket Im on about. All help is much appreciated thanks :y :y

Omega General Help / should I drain gearbox and clean filter
« on: 09 April 2009, 23:24:17 »
This car is a nightmare, for those of you who have read my other threads, some cowboy attached gearbox breather to breather bridge, all this along with a list of other things have now been rectified by loo-knee and elite pete :y
When the breather was put right the car was still idling lumpy, then I got "AUTOMATIC GEARBOX"on display, was adviced and told how to top up gearbox(cheers Daz)when the gearbox was topped up with 1.5ltrs of dexron3 the lumpy idle went,Mark DTM did explain something about the torque convertor putting extra load on the engine due to it being low on fluid resulting in the lumpy idle. But the lumpy idle came back again yesterday so checked gearbox took another 300ml and the lumpy idle went, been out today and its back again. Before you ask no puddles of anything under car.I am now wondering if the oil that was in when it was low but masked by the breather been on the breather bridge will be olloxed,or is it that its got that low it may take several attempts to top it up or should I just drain it and change/clean filter(dont worry Daz got the haynes out lol ;D ;D).
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated thanks

Omega General Help / lumpy idle
« on: 03 April 2009, 22:51:34 »
Evening all to start with just spent the day with loo-knee and elite pete trying to diagnose why my idle is lumpy, the day went like this:
1: changed EGR valve, made no difference
2:blocked off ICV,made no difference
3:removed plenum and inlet manifold to check all seals in place(all present)but  found gearbox breather pushed onto top breather bridge and the proper breather just left loose so rectified them, but still no difference.
4:replaced fuel rail,still no difference.
5:Tried a different DIS pack and leads and still no difference.
6:Put new spark plugs in,still no difference.
7:Changed MAF sensor still no diffrence
By this time Loo-knee and Elite Pete were baffled as to what the cause was and we decide to call it a day,I then drove 50 motorway miles home but at the 1st set of traffic lights I noticed a clunking sound when setting off,I was wondering if anybody else has come across this clunking sound when setting off and what the problem could be,I have spoke to loo-knee regarding this and he believes the gearbox breather attached to the top bridge has masked the fact the gearbox is in need of topping up,and could the fact the gearbox be low on oil cause the lumpy idle.Any questions I will try and answer to the best of my ability but Im no mechanic(plasterer). Thanks in advance Rob

Omega General Help / lumpy tick over
« on: 22 March 2009, 18:24:45 »
hello all I am looking for advice. To start bought car 3 month since but has spent half that time in gettting repaired.
1 losing oil (rocker gaskets replaced)
2 Mayo in header tank (oil cooler replaced solved  :y)
3 still losing oil (off side rocker gasket redone solved  :y)
4 full timing belt kit
since getting timing kit done tick overs lumpy, they told me valve timing was out so set it while doing kit,but now occasionally when go to start engine seems tight, leave it a couple of mins then try again and will start but tick over is lumpy and wasn't prior to garage setting valve timing, been back to them and they say its ok but Im not convinced.Does anyone have any advice or point me in the direction of a good mechanic who can check the valve timing and if so reset it,Im in Wigan
Thanks
