Omega General Help / Cat failing on a 2.2

Emmisions light came on so went to the garage to get the codes read. Cat below threshold was one and the other was something to do with oxygen sensor reading as a result. Anyway my question is - with the car being due for MOT in a fortnight does anyone know how much a second hand Cat will cost me and how much to fit it.

Hi guys hope you can offer me some advice on the probable causes for my 2.2 lumpy idle on start-up. Even after being sat in the sun my car idles lumpy when i start it up, the engine is much louder ( a bit blowey ) and there is a slight delay when i press the peddle before the revs increase and it nearly dies when i take my foot off ? There are no fault codes and if i take it for a drive and then re-start it it's as good as

I'm puzzled - please help !!

Noticed I was losing a small amount of coolant and thought the engine sounded a bit 'blowy' from cold so took it to my trusted garage, they gave it a sniff test and said the hydrocarbons in the expansion tank were off the scale. I've been quoted 350-400 for a full HG replacement. Does anyone know if this price sounds fair, moneys a bit tight at the moment. Also is there anyone out there who could attempt it for a little less? Far to big a job for me!

Anybody near Hull with some diagnostic kit, car seems to be driving fine but the orange EML light is on. Dont trust the local Vauxhall as they have proven unreliable in the past.

Is there anyone remotely near the Hull area who could look over my 2.2 for some serious beer tokens. Idles too high on start up then sounds loud for a few minutes until warm then everything is fine, if you stick it in D while still cool it struggles not to stall. Had it in two garage but they dont know and there was no codes, also sailed through MOT but I maintain it sounds ruff cold.

After further examination on my HG problem I now require a cylinder head for a 2.2. Pretty sure i dont have enough posts for the relevant section - BUT PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE can any of my fellow OOFers help me to source a cylinder head for my poorly 2.2, anybody breaking one ? My migs already stripped down and desperate.....
