Omega General Help / engine managment light

ive got a 2.0auto omega 1999 its got a smallish hole  in the down pipe my question is would this cause the engine management light to come on when hot .
leave it a minute or so and the light goes off when engine starts, could this be the lamba sensor reading wrong

when cold my 2.0 omega make a noise like a pump stop after 30 second does not do it when hot
can any one help
