Omega General Help / EGR Valve

EGR smoking like a bandit, could it be the wiring or the valve and plug, been quoted £50 including fitting, just don't wanna waste the guys time if its just wiring?



Some thing else to fix, last thing i hope temperate sorted

Omega General Help / COOLANT PUMP

I have an overheat prob (still the same one). I have had a new water pump fitted, done the rad flush, done the coolant flush.

There is a pump that fits near the coolant tank carrying water but the pump as not working hense i think why heat prob. I have got the fans running constant when engine on thinking it was that.

Can any one help me as to what i need to be asking for at a parts shop i have Vaxhall dixons spares 2 miles from me.

Update. Had water pump changed, now the airbag light is lit constantly and the heat goes into red and light comes on. What's going on was assured by the garage,  that the water pump was my overheating problem.

Any advise???

Omega General Help / Fan on Constant

Can any one tell me is there a paperclip method i can use on the fans to keep them on constantly instead of auto till i get to a garage (Saturday) for the thermo and fan switch fitted. Going into red light comes on looks like i not only need the thermo doing but the fan switch as well. Need to use the car as work out of town 1 bus every 2 hrs

Need to find some one / garage to fix my thermostat / switch. No one can fit me in for 2 weeks. Can any one suggest a cheap solution. I live in Leeds west yorkshire LS26.

Omega General Help / Heat Sensor

Thought i had a faulty Thermostat turned out to be a faulty heat sensor. I have a bit of an oil leak which is getting very hot when idlling causing the heat sensor to shut down. How much should it cost to fix and is it easy and could i do it myself.

A big thank you for every bodies help with my car i love it and don't want it poorly.

think i need a new one for my 2.5 CD v6, temperature going to Red now, fan is cooling it down, loosing no water from radiator so me thinks thermostat. Could i do it myself?

Omega General Help / Temp Gauge

I keep reading about the temp gauge going high. mine does that too whilst idle or in traffic, a bit concerning. i also seem to have a bit of a leak (oily). Can some one out my mind at rest. New to Vauxhall in general. Car is sweet.
would it be an idea to have a switch on the dash to control the temp a bit better.

 ;DJust found you all, just bought 2.5 cd V6 in black and it's mint. 60,000 miles. My only concern is the temperature gauge whilst sat in traffic tipping 100+ not touching the red and a little drip on the floor. Any idea's please.

Would it cost much to install a switch for the fan to kick in if getting too hot.

XP boots up goes to screen saying windows XP then does jack, doesn't go to logging in screen, i've tried safe mode again goes to window XP screen then again no further.

help me before i drop it from a great hight.

I have a recovery disc but because it does not even let me through to the desktop screen its no use to man nor beast.
