My mk3 tranney that I fitted with a 2.8 twin plenum v6 went okay and handled fine , took it down the drag strip and full of camping gear it kept up with a BMW mini.

And worse bit is they still use the same accounting system, local post master was on radio the other day saying she had just had a 5 grand discrepancy in her accounts wiped off.

River Severn by me peaked at 7.2 M  , its fed by the Teme at Worcester so that makes it worse. All that Welsh sunshine , have known it worse as one year all the roads out of town were closed for 2 days and I couldnt get to work (shame!). Severn takes a while to go down, said on local radio this morning it is the slowest river to return to normal. Sister lives in the cottage they bought a few years ago and have rebuilt, its on an island surrounded by the Severn and you have to walk over lock gates to get to it. Sunday it was 6ins over the walkway and it ended up a good 4ins up the door flood barrier, pump has stopped it coming under the floor.

Omega General Help / Re: propshaft damper

Yup thats what I thought, now I have to sit under the car, hold the prop in one hand and try to line the damper and bolt into the flange with the other. That will be "fun" as its tight between the chassis inner rails.

What I wanted to know is does the damper fit on the gearbox side of the doughnut or the shaft side and is it okayto leave it off.

So went to fit the prop to the Austin and cant remember how the damper fits at gearbox end, one shown in Haynes did not have one and no mention. Now have seen on here? some do not have a damper so is it okay to leave it off?  Total PIA to get at when its on my scissor lift , good job it has a safety interlock as squeezed inside it to reach!!
