Omega General Help / Noisy
« on: 22 May 2009, 14:13:45 »
My car is sounding a little throaty. i assumed that the manifold gasket was blowing but my local mechanic says it is fine. Apparently the EGR pipe was loose? He says he has secured it but after a couple of days the noise is back?  Any comments would be appreciated.   :y

Personally I would have thought you Crank Sensor would be this Part Number  = 90492061 but check first :y
Thanks mate, I just called Vaux he doesn't know which of two part numbers it would be  :-/. He said he needs the part number from the sensor. Could I easily see that or is it a strip down job.

Hello all. My car cuts out every now and then when coming to a stop or shortly after starting. It had been laid up for 8 months and I have just done the camcover gaskets. Any ideas? there is no juddering it drives smoothly but cuts out all of a sudden at traffic lights etc or when reversing into a parking space. It starts again straight away  :-/
Just Paper clipped it. Yup Code 19. Just bought a replacement sensor. Is it an easy fit? one for one swap, or is there anything to look out for?  :y

Omega General Help / Starting Problems
« on: 21 April 2009, 12:43:26 »
Hello all. I am trying to get my 2.5 elite back on the road after an rta.
Its been laid up for six months. It drove Ok after the accident but is dead now. I have changed the battery and checked fluids etc. I get nothing when I turn the key, not even a click. All of the appropriate dash lights come on when I turn the key and the radio central locking and lights work fine. Any ideas please - I thought maybe the starter motor may be stuck??
 :-/ :y

Can you hear a click from the engine bay or is there nothing?
Sorry about the delay in responding, I've been away. There is no click and the ignition light is on, could the starter motor be stuck / seized ? :-/

Do you have ignition lights and is it turning over?
Hello, no it isn't turning over. Not sure about the ignition light I didn't think to look, but there certainly were some lights on the dash. :-?

Omega General Help / A couple of questions.
« on: 23 March 2009, 08:50:23 »
Hello all,
I'm trying to get my 2.5 elite back on the road, its been sitting for 6 months or so. I turned the key after checking fluids etc and there was nothing on the key. I decided it must be the battery so changed that, still nothing. I have weeping cam cover gaskets and there is oil in my plug wells. Is my dis pack dead?
Also a non miggy question. My daughters pug 1.1 is over heating flushed engine changed thermostat, rad is good - still getting hot any ideas.
Thanks folks  :y :-? :-?

Hello all, I am just about to get my second Omega back on the road. It's been laid up for 6months or so after an RTA. I'm going to do the camcover gaskets and the battery is a gonner. Is there any thing else I should expect / look out for before I fire her up for the first time?
cheers all  :y :-/
