Right, I've dropped a bit of a block :-[

Original design: rubber trim x2, 1 top and both sides, 1 across bottom edge. plastic frame x2, same as rubber.

Later design:  rubber trim x2, 1 top and sides, 1 across bottom edge. plastic frame x4, 2 sides, 1 top, 1 bottom.

Only the rubbers are interchangeable :y

Pattern frames supplied by winscreen frames vary, but usually depend on the rubber being reusable.

Visible differences between two cars could be down to the various frames used and also the actual position of the glass depending on whether the screen is original/replaced properly in the correct position/just thrown in.

Either way the trims are available :y

Cheers

This gets more confusing. The one I need replacing is in one piece and only goes down sides and along top, That fox has a lot answer for when it decided to have mine for dinner.

Anyone got a windscreen trim from  a 2.2 rubber. Looking at the 2.6 it appears different and looks more plastic and been told on here is fitted before screen is bonded. The trim on the 2.2 just pulls out.

This will give you an idea of the fitting.

Cheers in advance

Had a look on the 2.6 as its of the road and yes its different. The one on the 2.2 just has a lip that just slips in. Managed to sit it in but about 5 inches is now missing.

Its not a seal..its a trim...glass is bonded in with eurothane (thats the seal) trim is put on glass prior to fitting so sounds like you need a remove and refit of the screen with a new trim :y

Okay, but surely ago can just slip another in its place. Have put it back in but good bit missing.

Best solution would be to buy a replacement battery holder and solder it in.

I keep meaning to find one that fits. I'm sure RS / Farnell will do one.

Even the contacts are missing somehow. Always wondered why the key would not lock the car remotely, No I know

Was having problems with my keys opened them up and noticed that battery terminals had came away from the circuit board on both keys and the previous owner had used silver paper as the contacts were no longer there. Can I just buy a replacement key and circuit board as long as I fit the chip from the original.
