Omega General Help / Re: Running rough
« on: 01 February 2012, 18:13:16 »
Apologies, thought it was still on profile pic
The car is a 2.5V6, 1999

I originally thought it may be the kickdown switch as this caused the 30 amp fuse to blow a number of years ago. I took apart switch and cleaned it the same as last time and car was fine for one day.

When it first happened yesterday, the car would not restart when I replaced the fuse, it just kept blowing the fuse. However, when I removed accelerator cable and kickdown switch, the car ran fine so I assumed that was the problem.
I have now disconnected the kickdown switch but problem is still there

Hi
Car cut out and the 30 amp fuse under th bonnet blew
It restarted and is now running very rough and EML is on
Codes 48 and 81 are now showing
Is this likely to be coil pack as I am thinking?

...and your wheel alignment centre will be amazed / dissapointed they cant charge for freeing them off.

The one I sold to 'stuvaux' (nice to meet you the other day, btw... I assume the car passed it's re-test?) came off my car which had just had new wishbones fitted for the M.O.T., I paid eighty squid for alignment and one of the rear track arms was seized... it only took them a few seconds to free it and I wasn't charged any extra.

Thanks, it was nice meeting you too. It did indeed pass the re-test.  :y Thanks to everyone else for their advice.

Hi,

My car failed its MOT on "excess movement in rear n/s tie rod". Does anyone know where to get the track control assembly (or tie rod end) from?
I have been quoted £82 for "Rear Control Arm, Part no. 90497197", which I thought was quite high.

Thanks

Just shows what an inquiring mind I have (not). But after 11 years I've never asked what the square hole is for above my climate panel. It probably tells me in my handbook, but I can't be bothered to go out to the car. I use it to keep tissues in, but I doubt this was GM's plan.

Any suggestions? Other than fag packets. :-?

Actually I meant to say, below the Climate panel alongside the radio head unit. :-[ :-[ :-[

You confused me.
The square hole is for the CARiN satnav display

Oh yeah, and for the sat nav screen on the elites.... ::)

there is a gauze in the washer bottle, take the motor out from the tank (water will pour out) the hole the pump sits in, has a lip, pull this, it will pull up, and out.

Its a gauze that filters the cr@p out of the water, it often gets blocked  :y

Thanks! I will try that tomorrow.  :y

Hi,

I am having trouble with the windscreen washer system on my miggy.
Both front and back are not working. The motor is working fine....i put it in some water and it came out fine. The pipes dont seem to be blocked as I could blow thru them....just!
Any ideas on what to check?

Thanks,
Stu

Omega General Help / no heat!!!
« on: 29 December 2009, 10:56:18 »
Hi,

My heaters are stubbornly refusing to work.
The bottom pipe going to matrix (in cabin) is only warm, but the top one is hot. Does this mean the matrix is blocked?
If so, how do the pipes on the bulkhead come off?
They seem to be held with some kind of plastic clip....
Thanks in advance.
