OK.
So it helps if you connect the right pieces of pipe together.
Turns out I was trying to attatch the piece that goes from the coolant bottle to the big pipe, to the HBV  >:(
What a pillock.
Plumbing all ok now, so went to the pub for a couple of chill out pints.
Will finish off tomorrow.

Help!
Does the feed to the HBV come from the branch on the big coolant pipe that runs around the block (which i think is correct) or from the colant bridge?
Stripped it all out to change the exhaust manifold gasket and now can't remember where the pipes go.  Duhhh  :-[

Thanks Mark.  I will go and remove the coolant bridge and pipes where they go to the bulkhead and see how that goes.

Omega General Help / Right bank exhaust manifold removal
« on: 28 September 2007, 09:29:19 »
Ive just started to strip down the right (drivers) exhaust manifold, but am struggling with removing the big coolant pipe.  I've removed the plenum and injector bridge, then looked at the book of lies which is advising removal of the oil cooler - not something i want to do.  Should i remove the coolant pipe linking the two cylinder heads for better access?

Many years ago I was issued with a Vx Novavan 1.5 diesel as a company vehicle.  I drove the thing flat out in 3rd gear from Bodmin to Exeter in the vain hope that i would blow the darn thing up and get an Astra as a replacement.  Didn't work though  >:(

Cheers Mr DTM

I presume the manual box is a LOT lighter than the auto, by looking at it?

Still an awkward thing to get lined up though.

I have assisted JasonH in changing his clutch.  There is a linkage on the top of the box I think, bit fiddly though.  Hydraulics - use easibleed kit.  I've usually just gived the flywheel - asssuming that it doesn't need skimming a wipe over with meths.
HTH mate.

Has it got a long MOT? are the tyres all good, what service history and when was cambelt last changed?  Does the autobox change smoothly, do all the electrics eg windows / sunroof work?
If all the above are good and the car is clean and tidy then probably worth it just.  Anything else wrong is a bargaining point.  Any questions or doubts just post them here mate.

Try F14 - the pas electrical fuse.
See fusebox layout in technical information pages.
