Don't watch it anymore, think it's past its best now.
Agreed It naffs me off how many of the contestants are so "up their own arses" but I suppose that is the main attraction of the programme :-\

That article is amazing! Bladdy good advert for the old girls, too!

Also makes a very important point - drag coefficient is the killer in terms of top speed, not overall power. In fact you have to double the power of the (then) latest Corvette to get the top speed up by another 13mph - whereas some minor aero fettling would do the same.

However, at 0.39 Cd, the Veyon trails massively behind the Omegas 0.28 Cd, so an estimated 225mph is perfectly plausible, and most likely be beaten, I'd reckon.

Google "rats Omega" an interesting watch  :y

Thought it was a winter thing?  Ive had my worst ever case of it for the last few days. Banging headache, everything hurts from head to toe. Freezing cold one minute, sweating like a pig the next. And weak as a kitten. Most inconvenient, as I have a lot of things I need to do. ::)
Told swmbo last night that I fear the end might be near. She laughed so hard she was nearly sick.  :(   :D

Your lady wouldn't be laughing so much if she contracted "man flu" it's a medical fact that in the female of the species it is fatal in 98.4 in of all cases!!!  ;)

Not worth the "hit and miss" chance taking the DIY route for the sake of £40 to have it done by a specialist

General Car Chat / Mk 2 fiesta sale
« on: 04 August 2016, 17:39:58 »
Hi all, I have a D reg. Mk 2 1100 Fiesta Ghia that I want to sell. It's scrap value is about £65. Anyone give me an idea what its worth? I understand that they are quite sought after for parts for anyone building an XR2i. The bad points relating to the car is it is a CAT C right off. I challenged the insurance company over this as the damage is only cosmetic broken light, bumper and dented wing, but they stuck to there guns. Three damaged body panels rear seats have seen better days, and it also need some welding done on both sides to the point where the suspension connects to the body. The up points are it has done just short of 70K mile genuine.Engine and gear box are spot on, It runs sweet as a nut, It has many usable parts i.e glass, some body panels light units etc. I suppose the best thing to do would be to break it myself but I haven't got the time at the moment any advice would be appreciated

TIA
Regards
Tony

General Discussion Area / Vapour trail question
« on: 31 July 2016, 17:45:32 »
standing outside earlier this afternoon, clear blue sky and settled upper atmosphere noticed lots of vapour trails for aircraft. Then I spotted a jet liner leaving no trail at all it passed overhead and after several miles it omitted  a very short trial compared to the other aircraft.  Got me thinking why  :-\ anyone enlighten me please?

Omega General Help / Rear springs
« on: 20 July 2016, 16:00:11 »
Hi all, I understand that non self leveling springs can be fitted to a car with self leveling. What effect would that have on the suspension if I where to fit them to my Elite? Also whats your opinion of Lesjofor springs? as I understand KYB are not what they used to be.
TIA
