Omega General Help / Re: Park Pilot holes in bumper

surely the best solution to fitting smaller reverse sensors is to fill the larger holes in with a plastic welder and start again?  :-/ :-/ :-/

I like your solution Andy, does it really works? It won't be fragile? I always prefered welds instead chemicals... Never tested on plastic bumper and don't know anyone that has done this...

To Twiglet: If I have to replace the parkpilot set, I would prefer to buy the new model, much prettier and cheaper than these ones! I have found the new Bosch URF7 for 130 Euros!

epoxy fibreglass the back and putty the front in the hole.  Fair it all once cured and redril to the correct size  :y

And the new paint will not move/crack?

Omega General Help / Park Pilot holes in bumper
« on: 26 June 2011, 22:45:45 »
I have some problems with my park pilot system, it's not working anymore! So I want to replace it... Bosch proposes to me the newer model, the URF-7, but the sensors are smaller so I have a problem with the holes drilled on the bumper... No way to find another bumper without holes, it's an Irmscher one!!

But if I find a way to "re-make" the holes properly, I will buy the Meta-system sensors. They looks very nice, with "an internal fitting", like the new BMW's parkpilot.  :y

Any helps to re-make these holes in the same place? A way to do so that the futur paint will not crack due to driving vibrations and little collisions  ::)
Does anyone here has done this job already?

Omega General Help / Re: Flywheel and clutch replacement...

Yes but mine is the DTI model, an evolution of TD, with common rail. In facts the 2,5 TD is the same that the BMW 525 TDS, and my 2,5 DTI is like the BMW 525 D. Y25DT for Opel or M57D25 for BMW.

Anyway I don't think that the clutch and gearbox are from BMW... So I'm not sure it's compatible...

Sometimes the car tremble slightly so I guess it comes from there... He told me that it's not needed but recommended to replace the DMF too, especially that he will remove the gearbox anyway, so he told me that's better to replace all together in one time.

Don't know about the price for the DMF but it's about 180€ for a Valeo standard clutch kit and about 250€ for labor...

But my question is: if I install a standard clutch kit again, will it support the new torque power or I need a renforced one?

Omega General Help / Flywheel and clutch replacement...
« on: 07 April 2011, 20:35:13 »
Hello all!

I have to replace the clutch because it "sleeps" when I accelerate... My mechanic told me that I have to replace the flywheel too with a complete clutch kit because it's a dual-mass one. Don't know if it's necessary but I thought about a renforced clutch kit because my car is remapped and I don't want to have the same problem 4 months later... My car had 150bhp/310Nm and now have 193bhp/405Nm.

So any suggest are welcome!

Thank you!

Omega General Help / Brake pads replacing...
« on: 23 January 2011, 19:21:26 »
Hi all!

I have replaced my front brake pads and disks with new Bosch ones! But... I don't see how I have to connect the pads sensor on them? Is there some pics or help for that? I have searched on the maintenance guide section but I don't have found anything about the pads sensor... Is there a sensor for the rear too?

Thanks for help!

Omega General Help / Re: Powerflex Wishbone bush bulk order

Just been told that you need a ten-ton press to fit some of these. Presumably in the wishbones.

Can someone clarify / dispel this for me? thanks.

POWERFLEX bushes are designed, in general, to be fitted by hand by a home mechanic with no special tools. However it is not always possible to remove the old bushes without some hand tools. The following tips will help you to remove the old bushes if they are not simply a push out bush.

This is a sample price from eBay:

The anti-roll-bar are included in this kit. What's the price if we buy all together?
