Omega General Help / Re: dropped link
« on: 25 March 2012, 20:11:15 »
You can get a good pair from Vauxhallworldparts.com at a very reasonable price and fit them your self very easy to do but ensure you have both sides of the car jacked when you do:y :y

Why???

I've always changed 'em one side at a time with no subsequent issues  :y

To the Op - if your's are original fitting you will need an 18mm socket + breaker bar to undo.

Done mine twice now the first time did one side at a time very soon after rubber popped out of one. Advice from this wonderful forum was to have both sides jacked listen and set two been perfect.  :y

General Car Chat / Re: How Do You Drive A Automatic..??
« on: 24 March 2012, 23:24:35 »
on a mk 4 astra auto if you stop for more than 2 seconds the box puts itself into neutral and back into drive when footbrake released   thought my astra was faulty until i looked in the handbook and its supposed to do that

All the FWD VX auto's with an AW box do this, apparently it saves fuel by .00000000000001% or something!

That makes it all worthwhile then lol  :y :y

Omega General Help / Re: Steering noise what is it ??
« on: 26 February 2012, 20:32:51 »
most problems on front suspension will come thru wheel-could simply be the plastic around the steering wheel loose but without seeing your car can only go by your description  :y

Will take on board all what has been suggested and get underneath with in the next few days will let you know any findings thanks  :y :y

i would check your drop links first for wear or any play in them ;)

New drop links and wishbones fitted about three months ago so should be ok you would think. Any thing else i should look for ??
