If you use a Vauxhall dealer they can provide an additional service book.
Mine is full for the TD estate so they gave me another, to carry on with the service records. I did have it serviced with them at the time though :y

These seem a good buy.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220323955284&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I think other members have gone for these.
I would have fitted these, for towing, but the caravan may be sold :'(

Daft as it sounds but....did you use 5th gear.

I've been driving my auto around for 2 weeks so never touched the manual estate in that time.

Went on a long journey in the estate and did around 25 miles before I realized I'd not got it into 5th gear, that's doing 70mph with c/c on.
Made a bit difference to mpg and of course rpm shifting up from 4th to 5th :y

Never done that before...forgot I had a 5th gear :-[

Hoping someone out there can help. Had some fault codes come up the other day which indicated EGR out of range, Fuel Quantity out of range and fuel shut off solenoid either out of range or ground to earth. They have disappeared along with the hot weather so will have to wait for further diagnosis. However on investigation under the bonnet found several vacuum pipes that go to nowhere and possibly some that are missing. I have seen the diagram on here for the petrol V6 versions but does anyone know either what goes where or the location of a diagram?

Try this:

 ;) ;)

Will be different for the TD I guess :y

I did have the pdf diagram on this engine somewhere, whether that shows much on the vac hoses :-/

hi was just wondering if anyone had a total closure kit fitted in omega pre face.and if so do they work ok.as ive read a few mixed vibes.and is their anywhere in scotland u could buy them as none on ebay or that cheers guys
Should be on it already. Lock car and keep fob pressed, sunroof and any open windows should close.

Or as I do press twice, 1 to lock, 2 to deadlock and hold for closure of windows, and if you have one the sunroof :y

I would say discs also.

Mine was behaving in exactly the way you describe, especially worst when braking from say above 50mph.

My discs were absolutely shot, new discs and the car behaves perfectly now no matter what speed I brake at :y

Dex 3 not dot 3  :y

Halfords do their own, or comma, iirc
I use Fuchs titan 4000, but unlikely to see that locally (I get it delivered from OPIE oils - see discount in sales section)

Sorry that's me looking at brake fliud, it's my age.

Post corrected ;D

Omega General Help / Auto fluid
« on: 21 May 2010, 17:29:42 »
I checked the auto fluid in the 2.2 yesterday, I think it needs a top up.
Without me trawling down to the dealers for some GM stuff can I buy some from say Halfords or motor shop that's compatible.......is it Dex-3, can't seem to find that on Halfords website.
Car's up for sale but I want it tip top for any prospective buyer, so will top up the box :y

To stop the front door pins rattling......

Prise open the red/orange cap with a thin blade (it does come out, but not all the way I think) and this frees up the plastic pin. Wrap some thin tape around where it fits once maybe twice around. Job done, no more rattling.

There was a post on this with pics, but I can't find it.

You'll see how it's done once you get that cap out :y

simples!

Yes the advert implies they are like OE, not they are. And the Vx badge sort of kids you to thinking they are OE.
He's had too many negs/neutrals recently, and I don't like sellers that keep there items sold as "private" Why? :-/

Thanks for the fast replies guys

To answer a few questions
When i changed the oil recently i cleaned out the charge air pipe and it only had the lightest film of oil on it so  would doubt that was the problem but yes certainly could be.
I havent changed the fuel filter for around 5000 miles so perhaps that could do with a change.
I cant see any smoke during the day so i dont think its that bad but it just looked quite alot last night, as in i would have a truck behind me with their powerful lights and when i floored it up to 80-90mph to get away from them  i would see what looked like a pretty big loud come out and it didnt decrease throughout the journey which i thought was odd, as i was trying to blow the crap out of the system as i drive the car really, really carefully normally.

I always use sainsburys fuel
So this diesel magic, when  change the fuel filter i fill the new filter with it and then let it burn, should i have very low fuel in the car at the time so the concentration of the stuff is high and also what about small amounts of acetone, ive heard this cleans out the system and injectors etc

thanks again

Alex

As said in my earlier post, this may be your problem.

Try at least new fuel filter, filled with diesel magic, that's after you've used up all of that Sainsburys fuel.
See if it cleans things up.
If you haven't taken the fuel filter off before I find it easier to take the whole thing off with mounting bracket. It's easier this way to get the top collar to seat properly.
Once you've got it back together filled with the magic stuff (from Halfords £5.99) start car and give it some revs. :y

I filled up on two occasions with Sainsburys city diesel, never again, it smoked like hell.

I always find Asda diesel ok for me, or Tesco if you must use a supermarket fuel. :y
