must be a reason McDonalds sell Triple Thick Milkshake
there must be quite an audience  :D

When the machine is actually working, they are very nice milkshakes.

The whole point of my post was that putting a guilt trip on people by imploring them to stay in is fickin stupid. Who, exactly, is not allowed to go out? MacDonalds workers and customers, supermarket workers, bin men, factory workers, postmen, etc, etc, can all go to work. Anyone can go out for exercise, to get food (including burgers), to go to the doctors/hospital, etc, etc. Just who can't go out?

No one is guilt tripping here, but my point was, the ad would like you to. My whole point was the ad, not people's behaviour.

I feel better now!  :D

Better?

No.  I was trying to quote you saying that someone (I have no idea who) is trying to guilt trip people...... and then you saying that no-one is trying to guilt trip.

Our local McDonalds causes a big traffic que as well  >:(
knobs can't even get into the car park and just sit with their indicators on ,causing a que past a fire station and sometimes as far down as the cop shop.
the police/council should shut it down and make it move to a suitable location that can cope with people queued .
why people que for ages and pay for burgers is beyond me .It's hardly difficult to cook a burger and some chips  ::)

The Council, and likely the Police would have been involved in the planning application.  You expect them to go back on their lengthy and costly decision?

Those who need food, go to get food.

I'll side with you on this; McDonalds in most of the Country can be delivered by UberEats.  This means the Household doesn't need to go out...... but I'm sure you'll find a problem with a delivery driver being out of his/her/it's house.

Stay home.....but we'll let MacDonalds open, but don't go there, take personal responsibility. FFS, some people on here are as thick as Boris. You don't tell people to stay home, or they'll kill grandma, only go out for essential journeys, and then open MacDonalds drive through......do you?

It's food you total ignoramus.  Nobody is having a party in there with Ronald.

Bore off, you silly old sod!  ;D ;D ;D

So, somebody is an idiot for getting into their own car (with or without their household), drive to a fast-food retailer, drive through the aptly named drive-thru, make a contactless payment, take their food and eat it.

What is wrong with some people, eh?

In the interest of keeping this nice and easy for those who can't be arsed to look up M'Lud's latest fantasy...... here are the two persons of interest;

Kayleigh McEnany

Dr Rachel Levine

Having just Googled Dr Rachel Levine, I think that Lizzie is right that Lord Opti might get a little more than he bargained for!  :)

I rather think Opti would love to come over her! ;D ;D ;D ;)

As an addition to the above, the Public directory, as the name suggests, doesn't require admin rights or passwords or any other bullcrap that you don't need on a private HOME network between two of YOUR machines.

The data is easily accessed by anyone on your network though, so be aware of that.

Lets go back to basics.

Have you got any anti-virus and/or firewall installed on the Windows machine?  If so, disable them.

Connect your network cable (I presume it is a 'crossover' cable)?

Find out what the IP address is of both machines.

Open a CMD prompt on the Windows machine and ping the IP address of the Mac.  If connected correctly, you should get a response.

Open Terminal on the Mac and ping the IP address of the Windows machine.

Once the above has been carried out (and successfully) it'll be a case of getting Nanny Windows to allow the Mac to access the drives.

Top-Tip:  Put everything you want to transfer into the 'Public' directory on the Windows machine.  There is a lot less Windows Red-Tape to overcome.

Thanks for all your input, especially JD..... very informative.

I was supposed to go and see / test-drive the car today, but my job in Chichester went tits-up, so didn't have the time.

I won't be able to get there until Wed/Thu next week.  I hope it doesn't sell in the meantime.

And DG, that W12 does look rather splendid!
