Omega General Help / Steering noise what is it ??
« on: 26 February 2012, 20:03:03 »
Hi all have got what can best be described as a knock or crack noise that seems to come through the steering wheel. This noise is not there when turning or is does not  seem to appear going over certain road surfaces it just seems to happen at odd intervals but i cant say that its a definate  knock as it can also sound like a crack. Any ideas please Steve.  :-\ :-\ :-\ :y

Had the same mid life moment the other week, ended up paying a visit to RobG who put my embarrassed  moment back on track  ;D ;D

Can I blame that on mid life ? oh good  :y
did the very same thing after fixing the stupid climate lights in the first place the day before, 1 1/2 hrs it took me to replace them, then on the way home the next night stupid lights were off, took the drive home to find out there even was a dimmer fitted lol  :-[ no idea how I moved it  ;D ???

been driving about with the front fogs for a few days after I bought it, didnt realise the green light on the dash was the fogs, thought it was telling me dipped beam was on, had that sort of indicator in another car, What are we like ::)

Many more of us and we will have to make a break away group  ;D ;D ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Omega Servicing
« on: 19 February 2012, 11:33:51 »
Have a go yourself my friend.   I've done more on my Omega these past couple of years than I'd done on ALL the previous 30 yrs.

Fairly easy to do PLUS you can get all the assistance you need on the OOF.....Great fun..well most of the time anyways.

Ditto owned my Omega 2.2 now for two years and all though i have dabbled with bits and pieces on previous cars since having the Omega and using the wealth of info on this site i have done so much more my self. Saves also on huge garage bills and the satisfaction of doing it yourself is worth its weight.  :y :y

By the time you fit the roof with solar panels to go fully green it will need at least a 3ltr engine just to move the weight ha ha.
