Omega General Help / Re: Where does my spare pipe go??!!

Hi all,

At the end of a marathon top end rebuild, not yet turned the key, I've got a "spare pipe"!  It comes up behind the plenum but is not one of the four breather pipes into the plenum.  It has been cable-tied there by VX technicians but I can't see any home for it.  It's diameter is about right to fit the plenum but I'm mystified.  (Hopefully it does not go onto somewhere deep down requiring me to strip back to get it in but hey...

Any ideas? :-[

Breather pipe for auto box ;)

Well I said Bo***cks to it, as the bloke wanted to do a straight swap for my MG ZS and am now the proud owner of a 2.6 MV6 auto estate. Loving all the space, it's ideal for slinging all my ice hockey gear in, and its a nice laid back cruiser. Now all I have to do is get rid of my Honda Prelude VTi......

Good for you, enjoy the ride :y

how exaclty do you fit the spoiler, is it just drilled ad screwed in place or "glued" also.

Whats the best spoiler for the face lift, ive seen a few :/

(sorry for hijacking thread ;) )

It is taped down with one small screw either end

... need to find some others to put in though... anyone?

Blank/plain door trims are available if you want to part with £50 odd at Vauxhall.  ::)  ::) Or you could always use face lift trims.

Find someone who is breaking a MV6, no trim badges on them ;)

Just to put your mind at rest, compare it to this ;)

Theres a guide here

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152745304

But as Mutantcav says, also remove the ' C ' post trims

Edit : you will only have the 3 studs and nuts if you have a rear blind, which i dont think you will have on a 99 CDX

Thats right,  a lot of them don't come with markings :-/

if your old belt still has some markings, put the old and new belts side by side and mark the new belt against the old one

If youve got time, take the plenum off too, gives much better access, you dont need to but it may help if youve not done one before , and save a few scratches along the way ;)

cam or crank sensor failure won't stop the engine from turning over check the electrics and try turning it by hand as already suggested , also worth dropping off the aux belt and seeing if that makes a difference

I have bought a new radio/temp/date etc display for my 96 2.0 16v tourer as the old one had so many pixcels missing i couldnt read a thing.Does anyone know how to replace it ?
cheers

theres a how2 on here or www.vxon.co.uk
it's a case of undoing 4 screws holding the clocks in and then taking the display out- could clean it but if you have a replacement unit then just stick that in

Perhaps we should be recommending our own threads ::)

As its an S reg it will have the exact colour code on a plate on the chassis...bottom back of the drivers side door...Zxxx

Yup, Z293 which is as above  00-   :-?

According to paints4u.com, that colour should be available from ~95.
Its probably right, just quoting what it says in the vauxhall list in the tech info section :y
