Well, after much deliberation, I have taken the plunge and formally setup a small business, to enable me to do my Omega Mobile Mechanics venture properly.

I am fully registered with HMRC, Inland revenue etc and hold full public liability insurance for the motor and mechanical trade.

I will only be doing this part time, so availability will be a little limited, but I plan to get as many bookings in as I can and be as flexible as possible.

Please check out my new website. Please bear in mind that is is only a first draft and is still being worked on. You may not see it yet while DNS propogates. The address is www.omegamechanic.co.uk

Please bear in mind that due to the costs of holding public liability insurance, business motor insurance and all of the other costs, my prices are not quite as low as they used to be - but I will always be more competetive than any dealer or garage.

Constructive feedback welcome on any areas - I'm not the most experienced with business issues, and I think I have things covered, but if there are any business guru's who would like to offer advice, please do :y

Thanks for reading  :y
I wish you every success.  :y
Can you do rethreading of snapped manifold studs?

Might it have changed when they went from a red to yellow background?

It makes no sense. They can't even play the green card since the method of manufacture is extremely inefficient and has pushed the price up of wheat/grain.

My 2.2 is the most economical at 60. Not a 2.6 I know but maybe the same pattern will develop across the engine range?

« on: 21 July 2008, 17:00:31 »
This was set at £185.00 as I understood it. I have recently heard this is going up by £15 to £200.

Anyone heard the same thing?

My das car (above) intermittently cuts out when driving and stalls when idling.  I've read that this is common on these engines and that it can be solved by an ecu update with egr removed but only for manual vehicles? Does anyone have any experience of astras/the above prob?

(I have already cleaned out the icv with carb cleaner)

Thanks

Had Talk Talk for 1 month - speed fine (quicker than my prev. BT Broadband), sometimes disconnects but comes back on quickly.

Would recommend to have an in built wireless network card as opposed to usb adapter.
You can access voicemail by dialling 1571 but if you do this it buggers up your standard answering service on your phone. I recommend you deactivate talktalk voicemail and just let your phone's standard answer machine do it's job.

Overall it is ok.
Hope this helps.

Richersounds have Tannoy Erysis 2 - see link below:

http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=TANN-EYRIS2-SYCAM

If you register with the VIP Club you can get them for £199.99 - but you will have to be quick.

I'm sure they have one in Watford so they could do a demo for you.

Good Luck
