zonealarm+avast

Agreed - Anti Virus Avast or AVG freebies, both good
Firewall - Zonealarm freebie
Spyware, Malware etc - use both Spybot S&D & Adaware - both free

Paid for - Norton &/or McAfee - but tend to slow down computers noticably, particularly on startup

Buy a cheapo 2nd hand laptop off ebay - paid £20 for mine just to use with cheapo Tech2.  U can check if it has a serial port by putting model nº into google or try http://www.ciao.co.uk/ - they hold specs of most laptops!

I've been watching a story book on E-Bay for my teenaged son, it's a discontinued book, rare, but, affordable at around a tenner.  I watched it until the last minute and won it at 18 seconds to spare, paid for it, great communications from the seller and we've received it today in excelent packaging.  I've duly left the appropriate 5 star feedback etc..

Then, I received a message from another E-Bayer, who had previously bidded on this item at an earlier stage in the auction, less than £3 with no further bids since.  :-?

They said, in a nut shell, that, I should be ashamed of my self for late bidding and wondered if I was now going to go upstairs to raid my kid's money boxes...  " I did that several weeks ago!" ;D

I believe that auctions work in a way that, the highest bid on the fall of the hammer, however late wins the article :-/

Please vote accordingly, any comments will be appreciated (Pos or Neg)

Cheers DC

Bidding with 18 secs to go aint late bidding!!  I usually bid a bit later than that!!  No probs with late bidding - ebay is the same as any other auction - lot goes to highest bidder - only on ebay there is a time limit - use it to your advantage!

Normal phishing scam - happens for all banks.  No bank will contact u by email unless replying to one of yours.  Do NOT click links in email - report it bank & delete.

This is theft so call the Police - they wil work at it.

Agreed - i had this with paypal for £250 - mention of the need for them to co-operate with the police got the money straight back into my account.  In my case the chargeback was because the buyer complained of fraudulent use of his credit card - he had done the same trick with 5 other sellers - all of whom got their money back after i contacted them!  Easy to check out issues like this thro' feedback!
Good luck
