As an aside, can a high level lamp be retro-fitted to an earlier model like mine?
IW

I noticed you drive an estate, do you mean like this .........

this one is on the bay for (buy it now) ...£14.95

maybe you can get one cheaper from the breakers.  :y

Omega General Help / High level brake light
« on: 28 September 2007, 07:29:25 »
Returning home last night, I passed a parked up police car, nothing wrong with that, you see them most days.
Further along my way, I noticed in my mirror, this car rapidly getting closer, did'nt think much of it, untill they flashed the blue whirlies.
I pulled over and got out of the car, (I knew I was'nt speeding, co's thats naughty  ::))
They asked if I knew my high level brake light was'nt working, I said no I did'nt know, (me now thinking, is it law that because it's fitted it must work ?). So basically, they pulled me over to let me know, I said I'd get it sorted, and let me on my way.

Now, because it's a row of led's, surely they can't have all blown, I've looked in the fuse layout in the hand book to see if it's a seperate fuse  :-/  anyone know the first place to look/check before the car gets stripped down  :o ?

Regards.... Carper  ;)

Omega General Help / Re: headlights change, recommendations?

Got to agree with Jimbob, phone round your local breakers and see what they have. Obviously, you want your lights sorting asap, but I would'nt be hesitant and pay silly money. Just looking on the bay, if you consider replacing with new, here's a pair of new one's, offering one at (buy it now £47.95) but do have the pair. Good luck  :y

Is your car manual or auto?

I've got 2.0L Auto GLS (facelift),  2000 on an X plate.

Omega General Help / Fitting Cruise

I've been reading up in the Guides about Fitting Cruise (Facelift Only). Came across indicator stalk on the bay... buy it now £20.99 + £1.89 pp.

I do'nt disbelieve this in the guide...

Go to vauxhall dealer and talk very nicely to mechanic. Cruise enabled with Tech2 in five minutes. Donate to mechanic's favourite charity.

Although this statement in the sellers description wont deter wether I buy one or not, just wondered thats all ???

( [quote from seller )...If you have the fly-by-wire then you should only need 2 switches for under the pedals and then the ECU resetting (take battery off for approx 30 minutes) and you have cruise control..

Is the sellers above quote true ???

Indicator Stalk........

« on: 05 September 2007, 16:26:30 »
Another newbie here  ;),  just thought I'd say hello to everyone. I've been looking in on the forums and reading the posts over the past few months, quite a friendly bunch  :y.
Well, I've picked up my very first Omega today, 2:0L GLS, (2000 on an X), 75k on the clock, one previous owner, not all the onboard toy's I know, but I like it, (the Mrs can keep her Honda Civic).
Live in West Yorkshire, enjoy me carp fishing, pretty much keep meself to meself, when the Mrs lets me  ;D
So thats about it, just thought I'd say hello.

Glad the meet went well ---- not a good advert for Vx tho -- drive down to the pub car park and see 4 cars with bonnets up -- ALL Omegas !!!!! ::)

Agree with the above, but neither is it a good advert to see them all in the disabled parking spots either  ::) thats is..... you all had your disabled stickers on show.  ;D
