General Car Chat / daily driver
« on: 09 May 2015, 01:28:16 »
bought the Elite estate new as i needed a comfortable van at the time, and over the years its been well used and abused by me and my employees.  noticed that many on here either don't have omegas now or have an omega plus another car.  whats your current daily driver, omega or another?

It is Fire Damage..But on saying that, Each green Batt pack is made up of 3 small batts And Inside they Are wet (leaking)
Battery 'acid' is abit of a misnomer, but alkaline substances will corrode just as effectively as acidic ones ;)

Seen enough burnt pcbs to confirm that is burnt

Major water leak at rear of engine could also be the bendy pipe from coolant bridge to heater bypass valve

Mines an 03.  New kit fitted by Vx @ 79K, new kit fitted by me @ around 150K, now on around 170K.  If it doesn't rot away, I'll be fitting the next one about 230K ;)
Good luck  :y

So you are going for the 80K  :-\

Why not, its done it twice before.  kit i took out looked fine, rollers and belt both ok.

Besides its now worth two tenths of fa. and i know what i paid for it new

Suspensionwise no issues - runs straight and true - just need 2 new rear tyres (worn out evenly) Good tracking place, tracking no good on these, full geo only.
cam cover gaskets and breathers done last year, oil, plugs and filters are normal service items anyway.
thanks anyway, but remember have owned this motor from new ;)

Thinking about scrapping mine.  only keep it because its a workhorse estate, and i've had it from new.  Maybe a respray would help, anyone know where you can buy rust coloured paint?

come on, nobody ever fitted new tyres?

Not worked on the 4 pots for years.  On V6 easy enough to refit original GM spring clips.
