try constant-mesh  or better known as crash gearboxes. nearly like an automatic as you only use clutch for stopping and starting. can make a really swift gearchange after a bit of experience matching revs.

Ah! The last manual car I had before the 'shed' was my Manta B SR and that must've been getting on for 20 years ago when most car only had 4 manual gears.

I'm not so sure about non vauxhall but i had a set of gen ones on my omega and the front ones come off as fast as they went on cos they rub the ground every time you go round a bend and in turn drive you round the bend

Some drive like loons though

If the hoses are mullered then might as well do them... if ok then leave them. The HBV is a boogar to get at. Best to do what needs doing whilst in there

Depends mate... Has been discussed before... some use none at all. Others use upto a L per 1000 miles... or thereabouts.


Entirely individaul it would seem  

Mine uses none between changes. But have had other cars that gulp it.

As long as all the system is good with no leaks... no worries mate

I know both are used in Omegas, but what are they really? Any possibility to get some corresponding Loctite etc? Could imagine that they are just some common instant gasket stuff commercially available... Can someone confirm?

why - doesnt your dealer have them?  I would be inclined to use the real thing just to be sure.
