Omega Electrical and Audio Help / ICE on a budget......
« on: 18 August 2006, 09:04:48 »
Looking to replace my CAR400 (alright I've had the car over a year and not done it yet!) but i'm on a bit of a budget, so looking for something reasonable, with multichanger and all adapters (MID, steering controls) at lowest cast!

Any suggestions?

mines a mini facelift, and without the pump I get no or very little hot air in the cabin!

Might be worth flushing the cooling system with a chemical flush and flushing the heater matrix by disconnecting the pipes at the bulkhead and reverse flushing with a hose - just in case it's partially blocked.

Some models did have a "winter pack" which included an electric water pump to circulate coolant through the heater but I'm not sure it made much difference except for using "residual heat" to keep the car warm while parked with a warm engine. The engine water pump should be more than up to the job, especially during warmup while the thermostat is closed.

Kevin

Mine has this, and when the pump wasn't working (only just fixed) I couldn't get any heat in the cabin. Should run al the time whilst the ignition is on. If you have one, it's located below the expansion tank. Check it's working.

Drilled out PROPERLY and will be fitted correctly.

Will NOT be buying anything from that particular dealer again. and have written (with pictures) to their MD.

I await his grovelling reply.  (if he does actually reply)

Omega General Help / Re: MAF
« on: 11 May 2010, 14:36:02 »
tried 2 ebay ones now from different sellers, both cause same probs. really lumpy tickover / stalling! revs range anywhere from 300 - 1500 (all over the place) or just stalls.

Again runs fine without MAF plugged in so am assuming they are naff MAFs.

one off ebay was aftermarket but complete with housing. Runs smooth and fine with MAF unplugged, or with old MAF in showing EML and code 73!

depends which one you need. I have an oval plug on you can have if thats the one you need. Mine was the square plugged one!!!

Although I sorted mine with liberal amounts of WD40 when I had it out (and found I had the wrong replacement!). Been working fine since!

Omega General Help / Seats hight adjuster
« on: 03 May 2010, 08:52:51 »
2.5v6 CD, electric hight adjuster on the passenger side is not working. The motor is clicking and trying to turn but seat must be stuck somehow as it wont budge up or down. I though there was a post about it being a common problem and a solution on here somewhere but couldn't find it when searching.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please???
