General Car Chat / Re: best vauxhall you ever owned
« on: 01 July 2013, 18:37:24 »
Non Omega, I guess it would have to be my old Astra GTE. Bit of a girls car though.

Best Vauxhall by far would be my trusty Silver Bullet, the first Omega I ever owned, and that I still have after nearly 10yrs, despite buying purely for a trip to France...

That's funny, as I bought my Mig for a trip to France in 2006 and fully intended to get rid as soon as I got back.  However......  ::)  ;D

I bought mine for the same reason 5 years ago, just sold her this week. She has been truly out of this world........  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(

Sold - Pending final payment.

I'm amazed about lack of interest, must just be a quiet time in buying cars. I've had 2 fools on eBay and its costing a fortune in fee's. Someone make me a realistic offer otherwise its getting locked away and I will no doubt be filed for separation..... Would love it to stay in the forum too.

21
Reduced to £1200 for one week or I'm keeping it and locking her away!

22
Due to a messer on eBay and the missus going mad about to many cars. Reduced to £1400

23
Thats a bargain considering its got 16 months tax on it. Lol :y

Very true, typo error its September 2013 lol  :y

Seems a bit picky to me mate to be honest... whats he want for 1700 quid  ::)  :)

Good luck with the sale,i just got one or i would have been intereseted

Very true.......... Cheers pal.

The air con wasn't gassed up because I don't use it, the buyer thought it was a risk as he wanted the air con cold, he went home on the train. So I took the car to a specialist this morning for a service and re-gas, now its running at 4.8oC. Ive even just got a new vauxhall badge for the back. The buyer wanted the air con cold from purchase so the deal fell through. Genuine buyer tho and a deal may still be struck now the air con is nice and cold.  :y :y

INTERIOR:
Totally unmarked throughout, with charcoal leather trim, and genuine Vauxhall floor mats. All seats and arm rests are in excellent condition, with no marks, scuffs or leather cracks. However the drivers mat does have some heal wear. The carpets underneath all mats are near immaculate; I think the mats have been in the car since it left the dealer.
The driver’s side electric window casing has the usual  marks from rings, however it is in far better condition than most.
Full Siemens NCDC 2013 with bose custom speaker system with the factory fitted optional 5” colour map view monitor for the sat nav. The current disc is genuine Vauxhall 2010 (very very hard to get an original), and works exactly as it left the factory. I also hove the original 2002 disc as well. The buttons on the stereo and surround are in exceptional condition, these are prone for poor wear; however there are a few small unnoticeable marks, but certainly above average from the others I’ve seen. Please note this model does not include the GSM phone, this is the only option this car doesn’t have.

STANDARD FEATURES INCLUDE:
Twin front and side airbags
Traction control and ABS
Rear parking sensors (all work fine) – cleaned the connections in 2011
Electronic climate control – regassed and runs at 4.5oC.
Cruise control
4 Disc cd auto-changer in dash
Full Colour information display satellite navigation
Electric one button tilt/slide sunroof
Xenon headlights (new bulbs last year)
Rain sensitive wipers (new Champion premium blades)
Electro Chromatic anti dazzle rear view mirror
Indirect night lighting

OTHER:
Please understand this is my pride and joy, It has been my personnel car for nearly 5 years, prior to that it belong to my cousin, I’ve known the car 6/7 years and has been serviced at the same place in this time. It has had £1000’s spent on making it into its current condition and maintaining it has not been cheap. I know I won’t get my money back, But I have to price it on its condition not only mechanically, but body work wise along with all the expensive work been completed.
Not the cheapest, but certainly one of the best.
Comments welcome, but please think before you post about negativity as this is a genuine for sale advert from a passionate Omega owner. I would really like this to stay in the forum if possible.
Logbook is in my name, old MOT's, receipts, handbooks, original sales brochure all present.

Concerns:

The rear sun blind started to play up this week.
The front ashtray has never opened
CD autochanger can be temperamental, it may take 3 or 4 attempts to select a disc, however sinlge CD play is fine.

£1750ovno.

Here we have my pride and joy, my 2002 "02" 3.2 elite with colour sat nav. She has been my car for over 4 years, but in my family for 6 years.
She has MOT till Mid April 2014, with no advisories and Tax till September 2014.
Current mileage is 129,600
Located in Manchester
BODYWORK:
Finished in two-coat pearlescent Krypton Green, This has been maintain and restored to the highest level. The car has received some paint, to make it into the condition it is currently in, but it has all been superficial. (Replacement rear bumper last year too)
It has been completed to an exceptional standard and has been maintained using the highest of quality shampoos, Wax and polish. The bodywork has to be described as near immaculate. I used to own a gold cup winning Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 6 years ago, so I know how to prepare, how to use and what equipment to maintain car bodywork.
The body work has been maintained by Iain at Finer Details, (www.finerdetails.co.uk) you can see my car in his gallery. Iain is renowned as a passionate and excellent car detailer and has exceptional feedback and well known on sites like www.detailingworld.com . I continue to maintain my car using swissvax polish, hand wash with detailing towel only (no leather chamois etc)

MECHANICAL:
3.2i 24v Ecotec with 217BHP with 4 speed automatic gearbox with snow and sport button, the engine has been mapped by Motorsport Development (June 2009) to run as efficient as possible whilst delivering a clear power curve (always used MSD when having any work on my RS Cosworth) The car has full service history, all stamped up by Vauxhall dealers and Jaguar specialist. This engine runs perfect, even from cold, never uses any oil or water and never misses a beat. A lights come on with ignition and go out when the car is started.

SERVICE INTERVALS
The cam belt and tensioners have been replaced (115,000), by “Elite Pete”.
The car has had a full service less than 5000 miles ago.
Both rocker covers (genuine GM) and oil breather cleaned out (117,000)
Both pre cat sensors moved to eliminate any common management light issues
Replacement head tank to remove faulty “coolant level” warning
Scuttle drains unblocked and cleaned out
Power sounder removed and replaced with new genuine one
Both key fobs repaired last year
New water pump
Inlet manifold O rings replaced.
Air con freezing cold
4 wheel alignment and total balance and geometry set up at 125,000
Basically all common problems have been completed within the last 15,000, along with this I have had new brake pads and brake callipers changed.

Full service history (11 stamps), will all manuals and leather wallet
Service mileages are as follows:
7582, 35943, 51233, 62132, 71428, 80038, 96489, 108497, 112297, 116282, 124725

WHEELS AND TYRES:
4 x late spec elite wheels in good condition, with some scuffs/scratches but nothing major.  All fitted with genuine Vauxhall locking wheel nuts and standard Vauxhall nuts.
Front tyres are Goodyear eagle F1’s asymmetric  3 (new style) These are the best rated tyre for wet driving, hence why there on the front. 5 mil + tread
Rear tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 3, the best tyre money can buy and demand the price, however will do 40,000 miles on the rear of an omega,  6.5/7 mil left.
I never replace 1 tyre, both sets together and only use these 2 brands now. There are many threads about tyres for Omegas, but removing “money or budget” boundaries these 2 Tyres would win hands down all the time.
4 brand new genuine GM vauxhall mudflaps

Its took me the best part of 4 years to get this car to the standard I'm actually happy with, and tomorrow the new owner is collecting it. It has been swissvaxed this morning and I have to say, its actually making me upset to sell, how does a car do that to you? The good news is its staying on the forum, and the new owner will cherish it just like I have done. These will be the last pics from me but I'm sure the new owner will show it off too. IMO I think it will be harder to get a better conditioned omega  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'( ....
I've put my photobucket account up as I have loads of photos.
