Cheers deviator, I will certainly try that if only i could find where the ruddy thing is situated >:(, Have had a look this morning & cant see the bleedin' thing anywhere.

After looking around other forums for the cause of this ' Fuel Temperature Voltage High' issue they claim the voltage is controlled by a sensor on the water system side, If this is the case then can anyone tell me what sensor this would be?,Would it be the temp gauge sender as it has 2 wires going to it instead of the normal one wire? :-\, I also noticed yesterday that after leaving the car parked for an hour after a long run I had no glow plug light on the dash when I turned the key, It still started ok but the problem was there but this time only for a few seconds so it is almost certainly a temperature related issue, So come on chaps,Just some ideas/suggestions could help :y, (& no i am not scrapping it) ;D

I know i have posted this before over the years but thought i would try again ;), When my old tractor has been on a long run then try to restart it the following happens,,,,,,I turn the key & it starts OK, Push the gas pedal & nothing happens, Leave it ticking over for 10-15 seconds & the revs move up a little followed by a little jolt then everything is fine again, The Boy did a test on it at high Wycombe & it came up as ' Fuel Temperature Voltage High' & suggested it was the sensor mounted by the Diesel filter, I have now changed that but the problem is still there, I also did a paperclip test today & that comes up with the same  ' 17,,,,Fuel Temperature Voltage High' :'(, This problem has got worse since I removed the viscous fan which is causing the engine to run a tad hotter but even so the engine temp still only reaches 90c, So where is my next port of call to investigate?, Could it be anything to do with the ECU chip settings?. :-\

& for the third year running I was the only Diesel. :o :o
Not counting the pair of Insignias ;D

Oh yes, I almost forgot about those riff-raff gate crashers, Which is surprising considering most of us were slagging them off from the time they turned up. I wonder if they come supplied with a Balaclava so you aint recognised when driving them?. ;D ;D ;D

All being well I should be coming down for this. :y,,,,,I don't suppose anyone coming to this has got a 2.5TD injector (the one with the wires on) that they want to part with, I have still got my no accelerator briefly on start up when hot problem, Just thought it might be worth trying replacing it just in case mine is going goo-gar when hot.

Depending on the year of your TD & ECU number I have a chip that i saved from a mates car which got scrapped, & his was a manual box. :y

Sounds like your outdoor temperature receiver/sensor is faulty. Depending on the year of the car will determine where it is mounted.

Omega General Help / Re: steering arm idler failure
« on: 12 March 2015, 19:31:22 »
Bought a new idler less than 2500 miles ago (fitted in june ) today failed mot on play in  idler  anything else that could cause it to fail so quickly or is it just down to a poor quality part

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago, It turned out that the pin it is mounted on had also worn so a new idler on it's own wasn't enough, I first went & got a quote from VX dealers for the idler & pin, Then after picking myself off the floor I decided to hunt the scrap yards, Luckily I found an assembly that looked virtually new & genuine VX so I grabbed that & stuck it on, Problem solved :y, If you do go the used route I would suggest leaving the idler arm on the pin & just unbolt it as complete assembly (2 bolts in the inner wing) as some things are best left undisturbed. :y

UPDATE,,,,I made up the Mark special tool today & found that although my N/S is pretty much spot on the O/S is a mile out, :o, Before i go wading in with the spanners is there anything i should check first that might have caused this?, & secondly if only one side is out would it still cause both front tyres to get chewed on the inside edge?.

Yeah you can just about get to the wiring, If as you say it has been getting sluggish then I suspect it is the door motor, Unless you are really lucky & the cause was dirty pins causing a resistance, :-\

Did it pack up suddenly?, It might be worth popping the wiring out from the bottom of the 'B' pillar & check the plug connections behind the grommet before attacking the door card, I had issues with mine in the past & found the pins had got dirty.
