I've got a '97 gls with the 2 button type fob that doesn't work. Would it be possible to swap some stuff over from my '99 estate that i'm breaking and use the newer style key integrated fob from that? if so which parts need to be swapped over? any advice would be much appreciated!  :y
yes.

Do you have key programming capability, as it will make a difference to what you need to swap

I assume you mean tech2 type equipment for key programming? if thats the case then no i don't  :(
Hmmm, makes it harder.

Old transponders from old keys need to go in new keys. Need to swap the Alarm ECU over, though I'm not sure if they changed between 97 and 99

At the risk of sounding a bit thick, which part of the key is the transponder?  :-[

I've just bought a CCR2006 off ebay for £100 with code and cd magazine all working, to cut a long story short I don't require it now so I'm selling it again however I'll offer it on the OOF first so if you or anyone else wants to make me an offer feel free ! don't forget to add around £10 for postage

I've got a bottle of autoglym intensive tar remover that would do it i'm sure. Never any signs of paint damage with it either!  :y

Omega General Help / Re: Installing a C20LET
« on: 26 July 2009, 22:48:22 »
thats the z20let engine. probably more of an easier swap for the x20xev that omegas have. the c20let is more the equivalent to the older 16v (20xe) as fitted to early calibras, astra gte's etc.

tbh i quite like the idea, if you add a nice big intercooler and lob a bigger turbo on there it could be quite interesting!  :y
