I like my beats and I have a sub, amp and 12 disc changer to fit, I need tips on how and where to feed the wires from the headunit through the dash

can anyone help?
you can run the amp power cable down the passenger side in under the pollen filter down to the sill trim panels and in to the boot.
while you are at it run the amp remote lead that way as well.

i ran the phono leads down the centre of the car under the centre console using flat leads

just need the pics of the rear parcel shelf, TheBoy sent me some but would definitely like to see some more. I'm sick and tired of lousy rear door speakers (actually have good kenwood components there but they're simply too small)
if you need my mail il page with it.
Thanks

just sortin the pics out for you should be able to put them on today.
The rear doors will take 6.5 speakers you just need to fabricate spacers, you also need to use slim fit speakers as you need to build the spacers out about 45-50 mm and i must stress that sound deadening the doors is essential to get good mid bass and treable levels

Omegadan do you maybe have a pic of the parcelshelf with the speakers on it? Especially underside?

i will try and get some of the pics of the shelf and the underside and post them on here i did do a photo dairy of the install for the insurance so i could get it all insured properly also needed a report to state the power and earth cables would not pose a risk of fire.

I took pics of every stage running the cables, mounting the units, rewiring the doors, removing the shelf, mounting the speakers etc if you let me know which ones you want i could email them over the weekend to you :y :y

the rears need some form of spacer as you cant buy a adaptor for the rear doors
Actually OmegaDan adapters (or spacers) for rear doors are available

when i did the rear doors on my 99 cdx i couldnt find any adaptors so made my own from 9mm mdf and managed to get 6.5 componants in relocated the tweeters to mid door sound deadened all doors and rear shelf ive got vibe speakers all round plus 2 12in subs in the boot running 2 amps 1 4 channel genisis for the door speakers and 1 vibe black box 2 sub ampfor the subs, rewired all speakers mounted the genisis amp where the cd changer should be rear right in boot and the vibe amp and power cap left hand side of boot between spare wheel and seat back used 0 gauge cable from battery to boot 2 runs down the passengers side 1 for each amp earthed amps seperatly head unit is a alpine multi-media with seperate brain mounted under rear shelf in car with cables to the amps going threw the shelf threw gromets also have a cd changer, dvdchanger, satnav, bluetooth phone interface a big differace compared to standard all units hidden around the car stealth was a priority when i did the car.

Pretty sure the fronts are 13's and the rear doors are 17's :y
I think you might find fronts are 16.5 cm or 6.5 in and rears are 13 cm or 5.25 in. fronts will need a adaptor to mount the speakers  the rears need some form of spacer as you cant buy a adaptor for the rear doors.
You might also want to use dynamat to line the doors to stop vibartions and rattles if you are gonna use an amp.
Personally i would replace the fronts with a good set of componants ive used Vibe the rear shelf speakers are the same size as the front doors and you could use a set of co-axil speakers.
If you are going to amp all speakers sound deaden the rearshelf with dynamat
hope this helps if you need further help DaveDnD on here is very helpful and extreamlly knollagable on car systems

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / alpine ivx-c806
« on: 14 July 2009, 13:32:15 »
this is a question for 'dnd' dave if he wouldn't mind.

I have just fitted a alpine ivx-c806 cd/flip screen in to my omega, the unit is in the dash main brain unit is in the boot sat next to genisis profile 4 and profile sub amps. i have a alpine navi unit to connect to the brain unit as well as a cd/mp3 changer and a dvd player, will i be able to use sat nav while listening to radio/cd/dvd for the kids or does this unit only allow 1 or the other.

i have fitted 4 cooling fans 6 inch size to cool the air in the boot around the amps and brain is that surficent to keep them cool, the air is drawn through the rear deck shelf and expelled through the stale air vents in the drivers side rear wing, fans run at 12,000 rpm.

thanks in advance dave you advise is gratefully respected

any other questions????????? >:(
Do your math on the current drain again.

read up on your amps mate  maximum current drain on the profile 4 ultra is 40 amps
and on the sub ultra its 110 amps that gives 150 amp worst case drain or have I MISSED something?????????

as i have a genisis profile 4 amp in my car  fitted by myself on advise of the people at genisis maximum current drain on the amp i have is 38.8 amps before it blows the fuse these amps are built to a very high standard with exacting peramiters they are also known to put out more power than thier competitors
each amp is fully tested before dispatch to customers with a lifetime warranty

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD????

im not lettin any 'professionals' near my mv6 again esp not car radio installers not after what happened last time ,im not worried im machinery and electrician i just want advice thats unbiased and gonna get teh best from the amps with out killing the qaulity or the battery lol
OK then, give me the following...

Battery A/h rating
Alternator A/h rating
Maximum current demand that both amps will draw in a worse case scenario.
Battery A/h rating depends on that fitted to vehicle either 66 70 or 85 A/h
Alternator A/h rating also depends on vehicle model they range from 90 A/h to 130 A/h
as for maximum current demand that both amps will draw in a worse case scenario thats easy 160 amp running a 4 ohm speaker system 190 running 2 ohm speaker system.

if the car is an mv6 the battery A/h rating would be 85 A/h and the Alternator A/h rating would possibly be 120 A/h
any other questions????????? >:(

a bit of help i would guess, where are you in the uk? i would imagine you are going to need big fuse link close to the battery running back to where the amps are to be installed, then run the cable straight in to a power cap,the feed out of the power cap would need to be fed in to a distribution block so as to run both guage cables to there respective amps. the distrubution block should have 1 feed in and 2 feeds out with fuses inbetween. i dont know what sort of system you are setting up in the car so could not advise further. if you need help and you are not too far from northampton i would  be available if needed. i have some years experiance in installing big ice systems in cars as well as my own omega.

Having just reread what you have asked the other way of powering your system would be to change your alternater to a higher ampage install a split charge relay and locate a second battery in the boot  like a optima yellow or red top deep cycle type this would allow you to run 8 guage cable to charge the second battery and keep the 6 gauge and 2 gauge cable runs as short as possible to the amps. though a distribution block, ensure the battery and both amps are earthed  seperately. using a deep cycle battery would negate the need to use power caps

hope this helps
