Omega General Help / Re: mpg an more bhp

I chipped mine. It does about 32 round town an. if I do 80 on motorway i get about 35-38.
If i stay at 70 I get nearer 40 + but can`t seem to do that because it takes forever to get anywhere.
Pretty well the same figures here too!
Autos are a bit thirstier, especially when un-chipped.
Well worth chipping, (70 quid-ish). Fitting the AR35 auto-box is essential, as you'll rapidly send your AR25 into 'melt-down'!
Take a look in the 'bits for sale' section on here. 'PM' to TheBoy for chip supplier.

HI, WILL MY 3.0MV6 AUTO (2000 FACELIFT) HAVE A AR25 OR 35? AS i WAS CONSIDERING A RE MAP, THANKS :y

Omega General Help / Re: Noisy exhaust

I've been told by fitters that a replacement exhaust on an omega is always noisy.  I really hope this isn't the case as I'm having to have the radio on deafeningly loud to drown mine out. Any solutions? :-/ :(

I have a stainless steel exhaust with life time guarantee, even with the mild sport package I choose its stilll not noisey, can hear my stereo fine at all speeds.
www.longlife.co.uk and locate your nearest dealer, good luck :y

Lets hope it all works as new.Mine has been on now for just a week and hasn,t missed a beat...that is a very good deal for the labour...2 hours total,so they only charged an hour to remove and an hour to refit ?did you use the car in between repairs then ,as my garage charged me 3 hours to remove and refit pump without ecu..then another 3 hours to remove ecu when repaired and refit, but I did have the entire brake system bleed through 2 times and coolant so accept a bit more.Yours was a very good deal then .

Thats right 1hr to remove 1hr to refit!!!! ;D
No I didn't drive it as I had a work van I could use, so garage keeped for the entire time. :y

i had problems with mine last week.Took it to BBA and got it back in less than 2 working days..but I do live within walking distance of them...cost me £100=00 + vat so hope yours is done as quick..curious to know how much your garage charged to remove and refit,as mine had to remove the entire pump assembly and rebleed brakes as plug would not slide across.
Best of luck with it and post up the results.

Car is now done, picking it up tonight, garage said all the lights are now off and speedo working.....
Costs: £138 + vat ecu repair, inc carriage (BBA reman), *Labour to remove and re fit £80 + vat (2hrs total) + brake fluid, Ellis motors, Burgess Hill , west sussex.
*that was taking off pump and ecu.

All in all a good price ;D, but not counting chickens yet until I drive it for a week or so as have read on some posts of some problems occuring even after repair!!!!! :-?

As posted on numerous occasions .. I used bba-reman and was very happy with them...

tel : 01634 687222

My local garage just phoned to say BBA reman quoted £140 (including postage) to repair ecu, so garage should get in Monday to refit, will update when refitted (fingers crossed no more probs) :y

Omega General Help / Re: changing abs sensor

as above, after replacing do the warning lights go out on there own or will the codes need clearing with tech 2.  :y

I had similar problem, thought it was sensors as ABS + T/C lights were on, tried a front and rear sensor and cleaned others but to no avail, turned out to be the ABS ecu, signs are no speedo, heavier steering and obviously no ABS or T/C, do you have these symtems??

Its common for F to come up on Range / Miles Left if the Mid has been swapped for Manual to Auto version (or other way round, cant remember) on the Mid display, if the fuel tank is low. Just a thought.  :y

Sorry not sure what you mean, I'm not technical :o lol

I think you're being misled re the temp sensor. As you say it's to do with miles per gallon.
When you say your ECU is faulty, which one? MPG, speed ec are worked out by the ABS ECU and if that's faulty it won't know how far or how fast you're going so will have trouble working out your mpg ... hence the F  :y

Yeah actually it say's the car's doing 7mpg, I know its a 3.0 V6 but even they aren't that bad ;D
Its the ABS ecu thats faulty! abs,tc lights on and no speedo!!

Is the F shown when the car's displaying the outside temperature? Had that issue few days and it was a knackered external temperature sensor. New one sorted out the thing  :y

Have not checked that, will do that and see!! :y

only heard of that in relation to the outside temperature.

Is that reporting correctly?

As far as I am aware its correct, will double check though!!.
If it is to do with temp is there a fault?
