Omega General Help / Re: EML & smell of petrol
« on: 04 January 2013, 20:18:39 »
Cheers lads, sort of knew that was going to be the reply, only just managed to get home with it an hour ago, i'll check the codes in the morning.

I was just putting out the feelers for ideas what it might be, I guess from what I've said it'll be a needle and haystack job atm

Omega General Help / EML & smell of petrol
« on: 04 January 2013, 19:42:33 »
The engine started misfiring tonight, then the EML came on, then it died. Starts again okay, revs okay too, put it in drive and it dies, about 4 or 5 times trying this it eventualy goes then does that all over again within a few yards.

After a few episodes of this there is a very strong smell of petrol and a sulphury smell like bad Cats.

Managed to get home, when it is running there' seems to be plenty of power till it misfires then goes through the above troubles all over again.

Any ideas lads please?

all turning via the aux belt okay, the screeching is definitely coming from where the removal guide on here says the pump is. so I suspect the pump itself is knackered :(

the aux belt is turning the pulley okay

Just drove for about 2.5 miles, everything okay, stopped at cash point jumped back in started the car and there's no power steering, I lifted the bonnet and belt is okay but there is like a screeching sound coming from the right hand side (as you look at it from the front) no lights on the dash, temp is okay. any ideas?

Thanks

My Flaber has never been so gasted.

I'm really shocked to the core about this, I had no idea this was happening until I read this thread. He's been to my house a couple of times to work on my car and always came across as a really great chap.

My faith in people has just dived another notch  :( I know he's in a minority but it seems to be on the increase if the media and press are anything to go by

Good to see you back Daz. Glad things are getting or have been sorted out mate, I think we all have a tantrum and throw the toys out of the pram now and again, it's always good to resolve differences amicably, life's too short to hold grudges.

I've only just caught up with all this, it's such a shame, you're all brilliantly knowledgeable people, and have helped me and others for quite a few years, to see this type of fall out is very disheartening.

I hope that the rift heals and quickly.

Anybody got a drivers Front Seat belt in beige, mine is playing up and doesn't retract properly when I take it off.
