Im not sure but it sounds like your rev counter is picking multiple signals.
So go back to the wires and check to see if any signal wires to the ECM have been bridged.
Do you have a miss fire ?

I would have a look at the connector to the wiper motor and check all the wires back, chances are they have shorted together at some point, but for the cost of a relay why hasnt he changed that ?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Power sounder battery
« on: 29 March 2009, 22:39:10 »
After spending many happy hours digging the mastic out of the sounder I discoverd the printed circuit has burnt out.
I suspect the batteries have leaked through the mastic but didnt find the entry point.
I am going to take the unit to work and see what has happend and try and get some decent photo's of the board.
What I did find quite funny was there was still a small amount of power in the 2 batteries although they had broken apart.
Not bad after 11 years

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Power sounder battery
« on: 27 March 2009, 20:15:18 »
Could anyone give me the current VX / Opel part number of the power sounder as I need to provide it to obtain the correct battery pack.
Im not sure if the one on my sounder has changed or not.
Thanks.

I belive they mean dont plug a battery charger into the lighter (there use to be a type of trickle charger the went into it)
I belive there is a type of solar powerd  charger that you can plug in, the problem is they may stop the car from shutting down when locked

I would be very careful about this type of change.
Experience has taught me there can be hidden dangers  ::)

Does sound like a crushed wire, I suggest removing the centre consul and have a good look at the wires. Also have a good look at the connectors to see if any of the terminals have pulled back.
