Probably wrong section posted in but cambelt change is 100,000 miles along with the water pump so your fine.

I had one on a two day rental back in 2012 for business did about 400 miles in it. Drove really nice I thought, can't remember the fuel economy but I didn't refuel it until the night before it went back and then only took about 45ltrs to fill back up. You know your driving a diesel but the autobox was nice and never seemed to be in the wrong gear and seats in the SRi are really comfy, or at least I thought so.

When my wife went for Porsche experience at Thruxton, to get on the track the cars had to pass a barrier which was closed behind them, no other way onto the track I could see, Brands must have a similar system I would think.

He actually got locked up for wearing trainers to court whilst wearing a suit and tie. Mega fashion faux pas, if he still had a girlfriend that would not have happened.

Judge was probably a motorsport fan, young guy locked up for this! community service more appropriate. Heck Caulson is out this week after serving just 5 months and he hacked phones, family defrauded over 200k from the state and the longest jail term was 27 months. We have all done stupid things in our younger days, sending this guy to prison senseless.

Having an Omega you are used to space so a BMW E60 530i ditch the runflats and its about as good as it gets. However for reliablity and something a little left field a Subaru Legacy 3.0 Type B touring.

I owned an import estate for a 4 years I purchased direct from Japan, called the VR4 basically the V6 with a couple of turbos bolted on, Evo running gear and a Porsche designed tip gearbox, best car I have ever owned, so quick it was intoxicating. Reliablity was pretty good, but parts expensive when you needed them and the cambelt service was at £700. Loved driving it I never failed to smile whenever I turned the key, the normal V6 was pretty good and very smooth and quiet. However getting on now so not sure I would own one again unless a mint low miler, Subura GT next time for me. Both the VR4 and V6 heavy on fuel and even the UK cars prefer 99RON fuel. Build quality was good, no problem whatsoever with door locking or windows, in fact electrics were fine (apart from the clock). Hope this helps.

Wow, lovely looking car with real road presence, friend has an X5 with the 4.0d huge amounts of torque and still returns over 35mpg day in day out. Enjoy it.

I have the 1.2 Twinport Corsa C its a good car on a 2005 plate. One of the things to watch out for is wet carpets, its caused by the seal around the brake servo being faulty and it becomes pourous, its not a 5 minute job to fix mine cost £500 to do and that was cheap. Apart from that, make sure the oil has been changed regually, old oil blocks the oil ways to the timing  chain, mine does all short journeys so I do three changes a year. Apart from that parts are cheap, oh yes one other thing is that the side light and indicator bulbs cannot be changed without taking the from bumper off, you can't get your fingers in their to change them, right rubbish design.

But its cheap transport and served us well, I would have another Corsa when it comes time to replace, very painless to own really. Make sure you buy a 1.2 or 1.4 dont buy the 1.0 had one of them first, really slow and no power to nip out into traffic.

As others have said it sounds like the hi pressure fuel pump, the diaphram in the fuel pump gets damaged by the ethanol in the fuel, which over the past few years has been quietly raised from under 3% to 5% the max allowed without labelling the pumps. Way to stop it in the short term when fitting a new pump depending on where you live is to use either BP Ultimate, Texaco S/U or Esso S/U no ethanol in these fuels at the moment.

However just seen your latest post saying you have replaced the pump but still have problems so I may well be wrong, anyway hope it helps and you get it sorted.

Thats the one, brain turned to mush as I posted. Not read any reviews on it but looks interesting. I did a piece on different LPG induction systems for powerboats a few years back and the system was just starting to be developed. I particually liked it because it did not compromise efficiently like the current vapour systems do, though I would imagine the trick is keep the LPG in liquid form to the injectors, I would like to see the system in operation.

Also with so many manufacturers moving to direct injection with a dearth of LPG systems that can handle direct injection, I suspect LPG will die soon, unless you can overcome this issue.

This has already been overcome by Prins for some manufacturers like Audi and even GM direct injection engine, they do a direct injection lpg liquid system which uses the cars original fuel injectors, does away with the inefficient vapour systems currently in use think its called liquigas V2 or something similar.

I do agree, I should get my hands dirty more, but I use the car so rarely being a loyal client of South West Trains I tend to take the path of least resistance. I had my cambelt and water pump done just over 3 years ago and never thought to get them done again doing on average less than 3k a year. I do basic work on the Corsa but its pretty simple to work on compared to the Omega.

Business grade laptop way to go not consumer, HP Elitebook or Toshiba Tecra range very good I was an IT manager for many years and bought both of these in vast quantities, they will take some serious abuse like being in car boots and backpacks. Have a look on ebay and try and go for either a Core 2 Duo or i5 or i7 CPU. Windows 7 and at least 4 GB RAM.

Cambelts very rarely fail its the tensioners that let go, personally if it was done at 60k miles with a new tensioner I would leave it, cost more to replace than the car is worth at a garage. Always a gamble as are most things in life but a fair chance that it will last until you part company with the car, hard headed maybe just pure economics.

Wow, 222k miles and if it is the head gasket, Option 3 scrap it and move on, why waste time on it or even time thinking about it.
