General Discussion Area / Re: Sheds..
« on: 07 April 2014, 14:04:09 »
Chris asked me via PM, he's more subtle like that.. but no not too expensive really - £1400 delivered and fitted, plus some to buy the bits to insulate it, board it out and wire for power & light; it's now mostly boarded out and mostly insulated with just the doors & roof to go.

After all weekend doing that (with my Dad) and furgling with a mates RX8 (fitting a two-stroke oil injection kit) on Saturday I now feel about 110 years old.  Someone pass me the Ibuprofen..

Not a bad price at all for all that  :y
My dad bought our first family home for £1995 after selling the two up two down we lived in for £250. 1963.

Interesting, given we're talking about sheds.

Sheds where quite expensive in 1963 by the looks. ;D
My point, Mr OCD, was that a shed now costs as much as a house did when I were a lad.

May I just say, you are becoming more unpleasant and obnoxious with every day that passes. The world/ forum does not revolve around you and your work problems or your theories on steering geometry/tyres. Wind your neck in, lad.

 ;D ;D ;D

General Discussion Area / Re: Statins
« on: 17 March 2014, 18:45:01 »
I've been on Statins for around 10 years, as a precautionary measure i was told.
Doc at the same time put me on a 1/4 asprin, but that was taken away about 5 years ago, as the medical profession followed new research on them.
I'm not aware of ever having high cholesterol, and am pretty sure it was never over 8.

I am now starting to have muscular problems in my left left, and I'm hoping its a side effect of being on statins for a long time.
I've been type 1 for nearly 40 years so it could be accelerated wear and tear.

I've got a review with Diabetic team on Monday next week, so will bring it up with them.
I'm hoping they'll let me drop the statin for a while and see what happens!

All four brain cells are now working in unison. Things are now much clearer. :y

Personally I dislike 'private plates'.......... Fine for people (footballers) in leafy Cheshire and Surrey but.......... :-\ :-\ :-\

What is it? I might make an offer........ :y

If you are serious I can PM you the number, Mr Vamps. I don't think it's worth much. :y

Also, if I sell it what number would replace it? I suppose that's  for the DVLC to decide.

The original registration mark will be put back on it!
Swansea will let you know what it was/will be
!

Is there cost involved?

I imagine so. :(

I think last time i put mine on retention it was somwhere around £110, but if just transfering to another vehicle its only £80.

General Car Chat / Re: diesel hard to start
« on: 13 March 2014, 20:54:16 »
What should the cranking speed of a focus TDCI be?
As the car still starts and runs I have been checking the quick and easy bits after work and before it gets dark.
It has run for 2 days now with no more engine codes, engine and coolant sensors read the correct temp, after being stood all day there was 1000kPa in the fuel rail, which rose quickly on cranking, cranking rpm being around 200rpm and as soon as it starts it runs perfect.
Does anyone have any experience of a good ford forum that's not just full of boy racers.
Cheers

I know of one but not sure if I can mention it on here!
I remember getting kicked off another forum for discussing this one when it was first started!   :-[
PM if interested, would be safer I presume!

Week 5 , no fags still BUT passing through a cloud of smoke from smoker's smells good  ??? Obviously im not anti smoking , still feel i could have one but resisting is easy . Gone on to lower strength patch now and using less of the inhalator  :y
Well done Sir.
You should hopefully, be through the worst.
I stopped nearly 9 years ago, but still think under the wrong circumstances, it would be far too easy to start again!
Keep up the good work!

Depends on which area of the UK you live in, I'd say.  :y

When the winter snow finally arrives here, I'll be glad the winters are on.  :P

Rant over!  ;)

Type 1 is insulin dependant. ie you have to inject the insulin cause the body can't produce it.   :-[

Although this may be sh!te news to you, please bear in mind that in the big picture there's much worse that can happen.

Generally if you're out of your teenage years, you probably have type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 is either diet controlled, or via tablets, and to my mind is the more difficult one to live with.

I have type 1 (insulin injection type), and have had it for nearly 40 years, since i was 7.
My mother at the time thought her world had ended, but I'm still here now.   :P

Just make sure you look after yourself so you don't suffer any complications as you get older.   :y

Good luck with the nurse! (Its the oppsing dieticians I can't stand going to see).
