General Car Chat / Re: Runway Enduro 926
« on: 17 January 2017, 07:37:05 »
I found that the Runway tyres tend to have cracked sidewalls after not so many miles...

Had a set on mine when I had it, took it back and had the tyre place swap for Bridgestone Potenza's (wasn't that much more ££ per tyre).... The Bridgestone's fealt so much better....

Stopped watching Mindbenders a number of years ago now, along with Faceache too....

The wife watches the omnibus editions of both Emmerdale and Coronation Street on Saturdays whilst I find something to do or a place to go to.....

I would also go with a duff injector or wiring loom too, don't think it will have anything to do with the petrol tank...

Easiest thing to do - I reckon - is swap another injector out from the engine and see if the fault follows, if it does then its an injector fault, if it stays on Cylinder 3 it'll be wiring at fault.

Last place I would look would be the petrol tank....

General Discussion Area / Re: I can see why fly tipping!
« on: 11 January 2017, 21:34:25 »
My local tip leave me alone these days after I had a go at them for stealing stuff off their employer....

I swear they see me and walk away.... I just get on with dumping crap into the various bins that are full of other peoples crap... I mainly use the 'Non Recycleable' bin... for almost everything, coz I can't be arsed walking with the crap....

The 'employees' just leave me to it....

« on: 08 January 2017, 12:04:05 »
Could just use some bird shit remover you can buy from Halfords and the like....

I also have never had any problems with leaving bird shit on my cars paintwork for weeks and its never marked the paintwork....

Omega General Help / Re: Door stay repair - welding precautions
« on: 07 January 2017, 13:16:59 »
Of course, the bodgeitandscarper approach would be to simply pull the door rubber away from the pillar and slot an 18" piece of ply/pane of glass in its place and crack on ;D

^^^ This is the best answer Iv heard in ages LOL

Once replaced don't worry about bleeding the system it does it itself, just turn full lock to lock (under load, with wheels on ground) a couple of times then check the fluid level...

Omega General Help / Re: abs ecu
« on: 07 January 2017, 11:43:01 »
Car doesnt have a speedo cable, its electronic and takes pulses from the gearbox to determine the speed...

It might be you need to replace the ABS rings or even just the sensor....

I doubt it will be instrument cluster, they are quite robust in their design...

« on: 07 January 2017, 11:40:11 »
Sounds like an ECU issue to me....

Manual and Auto ECU's are different.... dunno if you can fit an Auto ECU to a manual, but its worth a try just to see if the warning lights illuminate..... maybe try to start the engine but not drive it...?

Omega General Help / Re: Brake pull
« on: 01 January 2017, 14:18:43 »
Quite common problem on the X20 engines in the Vectra's that too, didn't realise it effected the Omega's too....

No cure has been found for it yet either, except to replace the studs and go from there...

Exactly the same as I bought when mine bust on me.... lasted less than a week BUT it got replaced almost straightaway as soon as I sent them pics and a video.... they blamed a fault on my engine for the reason as to why it burst... strange how the replacement they sent lasted a hell of a lot longer than the first and I did nowt to the engine....
