Hi Lizzie
There is much more, we do not understand. Example: Red sprites. They are lightnings, going straight 100 km above. Hundreds of millions volts are needed for that. No one knows where this voltage came from. 100 km attitude is borderline to space. Outside is nothing.
Really?

Hi TD
Astronomically you are 1 hour earlier in the evening than I am. So you are 1 hour nearer to days maximum temperature.
Still 33°C here

Moin together
Illuminated night clouds are in the upper stratosphere. Normally air is very dry there, so clouds can not exist. In Midsummer (Northern Hemisphere June/ July) there a little more water damp in the stratosphere, so sometimes special clouds can develop in up to 80 km high. Because the sun is only a few degrees under the horizon, these stratospheric clouds are illuminated by sunlight.
It is not a continental phenomen, but north in Scandinavia it is not visible, because sun stands to high. Also in southern counrtys like Spain or Italy it is not visible, because the sun is to far below the horizon.
I found a nice picture, taken in Essex, UK
@STEMO
Thank you very much for your song of praise. You know my challenge! Be sure my rusty wreak will come to the wreaking party of your actual car

They are beautiful! Only visible end June / early July , if the sun is not far under the horizon. They are far above normal weather. 50...80 kilometers up in the stratosphere. Soft waves at the northern horizon. Normal clouds are under 9 kilometer, except extreme thunderstorms reaching 12...15 kilometers attitude, breaking the troposphere, but illuminated night clouds are far above. The highest clouds on this planet. I like to sit in the garden and simply watch them.
Still 28°C at 21:00 UTC

Oh STEMO ! I read out the MID after parking in the shadow for 19 hours in my garage yard. Omegas sensor is always in good agreement to the local official weather station DWD (German Weather Digest) 10805, Lahr airport. (+/- 2K, that is the normal local temperature fluctuation)

Omegas MID said 33,5°C late in the afternoon. Official weather station at Lahr airport measured 30,9°C. It was the 12th day >30°C this summer here.

Berlin flooded! Up to 250 l/m2 rain in two days.
Here deepdown southwest the weather is more comfortable. Still 25°C, most sunny and a moderate western wind.
Optimal conditions to work on the Omega. I changed the left fog light. Glass, holder and adjustment mechanism were broken. The bumper has to by removed for that. 90 minutes work

My Omega was lonely and sad. Face to face to the wreaker. So he decided to came to us. Sure he heard in the Opel scene that I
can do something impossible. And I did....
Now my Caravan is part of the family...
