£4050 with commission/buyers premium. Rare manual.  Great value car, Nova 1.2 Merit went for over £5k!!

Ricciardo was only rated because he beat Seb one year at Red Bull, but that season Seb was sandbagging to invoke contract release to let him go to Ferrari.  Unfortunately his affair with the Italian red-head hasn't given him the results he expected, mainly because Braun had left and the management team imploded.  Seb's best days are behind him now, same as MSC's were at Merc. Expect Aston to take a step forward only if/when Merc pull out when Ham retires, by then Daimler-Benz will have taken over what's left of Aston the road car company.

Silly money.

But look at the Lotus Carlton market.  Few years years ago there were 2 cars that stood out in the market. 1 was a garage owner that had his in a car showroom from day 1 and just for show , when he put it up for sale it was slow to move as people wouldnt pay the money & the other was a 20K miles car.  The later was for sale for ages for £20,000.

Now if you want a Lotus Carlton a scabby abused one starts at £80K

Plus when I looke on Autotrader  last night I see all the Omega were twice the price they would have been a few years ago., saying that there were 3 low mielage cars shame they were basic models.

The Worlds going mad.
Not quite mad enough yet. I thought I'd test the water and rang a well known online classic car auction site. They weren't interested in my immaculate MV6 :'( but at least it means I get to keep it for a bit longer ;D
When I got it out of storage the other day for its MOT the owner of the barn (which is full of classic exotics) said it was his favourite and he leaves it near the door, because he knows that it will always start and just sits there purring away while he has to push the other cars in and out.  Needless to say it sailed through the MOT without a single advisory :y And the air con still works!

Hopefully at that price it will be someone who wants to restore it.
Needs a 24v in it, only a real geek would restore a 12v properly.

Or

Rare GLS spec facelift on there too.
If either are as good as they look, it would save a lot of work trying to get a rusty one back to that condition.

Christ,I remember him well ! almost the same age as me.  :(
He was actually the Earl of Dumfries, but tried to keep it low profile.
Won Le Mans in a TWR Jaguar. Was rumoured to behind the recent buyout of Williams F1, he used to drive their van in the early days.
It's been a been busy few days in racer's heaven...

I met him once when I was helping with a BTCC team in the eighties, he was utterly professional but very down to earth and an enthusiast through and through.  I expect he'll get a standing ovation as he ascends through the Pearly Gates.  RIP
