I know Audi has problems, VW also especially with 2.0Tdi engines which are dreadfull.
But to my knowledge this is not the case with bigger 3.0Tdi.
Also mentioned A3 is not an Audi it is a Golf in slightly fancier clothing.
I do like the looks of an XF it is beautiful especially inside but what is going on with my friends car is awful.
And service is really expensive plus the only authorized dealer here is at least to say BAD.

Omega General Help / Re: urgent help mig dead as dodo
« on: 30 March 2012, 13:25:54 »
Well I solved it.
Payed the tow truck.
Guy put the mig on a truck dropped it off at my friends repair shop and mig started first time.
Some fuc...ng idiot who previously messed with the starter motor didn't bolt it properly.
One bolt was missing completely the other one almost fel out.
Whole starter motor slid outwards probably when I was driving downhill.
After being put on a tow truck it slid back in its place.
My friend put  spare bolt and tightened it and now everything is working ok.
I hate when morons repair the cars and do such idiotic jobs  >:(

2.2 is pretty crazy whent it comes to fuel consumption.
My last one was doing 14 to 15 litres in town driving for 100km.
On opend road I was getting 7 to 7.5 litres per 100 km.
If I was extra carefull it could go even slightly bellow 7 (6.6 was my best result on a longer trip but it was like driving miss Daisy).
But in town no matter how careful I was it wouldnt go bellow 14.
That is the price for all that weight.

Just heard my friend has problems again with his jag XF 2.7d
First his handbrake went dead and was repaired under waranty.
Now the car overheated as he was on a trip.
Supposedly the fan died and the car overheated in town traffic.
Of course this hapened just after the waranty expired
It also lost coolant, but according to jag dealer it is not loosing it anymore (without them doing anything  :o
There were also some more problems but cant remeber which exactly.
Pretty lousy car it seems, he bought it new and has regreted choosing it instead of A5 audi

Omega General Help / urgent help mig dead as dodo
« on: 30 March 2012, 00:32:34 »
Bloody car left me tonight few miles from home and had to walk draging the laptop along.

Came normally parked it, when I was ready to go home turned the key half way, waited a few seconds for diesel heater sign to go off then turned the key fully and NOTHING  >:(
Lights work, and everything else electrical in the car so it has power.
Walked home, took a spare key in case it was the cause again nothing.
Took the - pole of the battery left it like that for 7-8 minutes and again nothing.
I couldn't see clearly in the dark but it seems that one belt is missing.
Well at least I could see one wheel that didn't have anything on it.
That wheel is located at the lower left part of the engine (UK drivers side) and couldnt see anything on it.
The belt that goes acroos the right part of the engine is present.
The wheel mentioned before is also more in front of other wheels where this present belt is visible.
Not sure am I making any sense but I'm pretty pissed off.
And had the MOT planned tomorrow.
Please any advice is welocme.
Also if I'm correct about the missing belt could this have caused any serious damage?

to my knowledge only gm parts will fit but are too expensive
You can always replace rear shocks and springs and turn off the air suspension.
Last non leveling rear shocks on my previous mig were KYB and I would recomend them

Omega General Help / Slight jerkines in autobox??
« on: 20 March 2012, 17:27:32 »
Autobox on my tractor is a bit jerky
Actually it is ok 90% of the time
It is only jerky when the car is runnig in 4th gear and the throttle is released.
Then when throttle is pressed then you can feel that the box doesnt engage gently.
Other than that box is perfectly ok.
I'm thinking slight lack of oil in the box (smaller sump which is only for 4th gear I think) ???
Boxx changes ok from 3th to 4th gear and every other gear.

Definitely bulbs.
Have one oem and one replacement bulb on mine.
OEM starts immediatelly, replacement needs some time to heat up and never strts the first time

Zagreb is the capitol of my Country.
Definitely not a place where you want to go in the summer.
If you choose to come here go to coastline.
Better to go Dalmatia than Istra(which is overcrowded, more expensive and sea can get a bit dirty in some parts).
Dubrovnik and Hvar are fashionable but tend to be expensive since lots of rich guests come there.
Although they are nice to visit on one or two days stay.
Trogir is very popular (Eclestones, Abramovic and also other jet setters come there every summer) but not too expensive.
My town is also becoming more popular again.
But here in the summer choice is enormous because coastline is pretty long.
Coastline is beautiful anywhere you go, just choice depends on what type of holliday you are after for (rest, sun and sea or partying adventure or similar)
Personally here I would choose Mljet or Kornati for a quiet family holliday.
Look them up on th internet if you want to.

You couold always come to my country.
Probably not as cheap as Turkey, probably less crowded and more cleaner,
Great food, great nature etc, 8 national parks etc.
Number of low cost companies fly here (easyjet, germanwings)
Was working with a number of foreigners on my last job(French, english, italians)
Every single one of them regreted leaving, and definitely gained some weight while staying here  ;D).
