Omega General Help / Cooling fan question
« on: 17 August 2020, 18:51:42 »
Evening fellas. I hope you’re all well 😃😃😃

Is it normal for the cooling fans to run a lot on the omega? It’s just something I’ve noticed that in town driving it’s on a lot. Absolutely no overheating issues or anything like that and I appreciate it’s warm. But every time I get home I notice it’s on. Any thoughts? 😃👍👍👍

Yeah absolutely it makes sense. My boss did his in dark blue inc. the hats. They looked epic. That blue is available through the seller I linked to earlier  just another option for Lizzie 😃

Lizzie I promise u won’t regret painting them. I did mine in situ on the car and carefully painted with a small brush. I also did the hats of the discs  :y

I used this...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILVER-BRAKE-CALIPER-PAINT-METAL-STEEL-ENGINE-High-Temperature-125ml/162123114796

I did them few weeks back and still looking good. Tiny pot of paint but it lasts. I used heat gun between coats as I did fronts then rears.

I replaced both fan switches when I had random town driving overheats. All cured now.

They are both still available from Vaux but are priced at IIRC £40 plus vat each  :o so got one from GSF and the other wasn’t available from anywhere other than supplier on eBay. I’ll try and find where I got it for you.

I ordered mine and they arrived next morning. Very impressed.

Hand brake went on nice... touch tight.

Gear stick one.... get the needle n thread out 👍👍

162
Yeah fair comments mate. I’ll try the stationery “S” and see what it’s like. If not I’ll use annihilators one cos that’s still got the letter on just a touch faded.  :y

163
Sound advice JD, cheers 😃😃👍👍

164
Lol cheers nick. Lacquer afterwards?

165
...and Anihalator is sending me a new “S” button.

I was going to try and refurbish my old one as a spare (I get really greasy and dirty at work so can totally see this happening again)

What do u reckon... a careful “S” tippexed followed by lacquer? Or maybe an S from a stationeries shop.
