Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Alarm/Flashes keep Going Off
« on: 16 January 2012, 12:56:45 »
:y Well on checking the rear sensors I found one to be extremly loose and pulled off way too easily. I have closed the prongs up slightly and pushed back on then checked the other three which appear ok.

Hopefully that will cure it but as it randomly goes off I will have to wait and see what happens  ::)

Well I've disconnected the bonnet switch but they have still gone off. Can the rear pane sensor be disconnected??

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Alarm/Flashes keep Going Off

My 2001 estate keeps setting the alarm lights off randomly. The sounder looks like its all ready been disconnected but the lights keep going off especially when its damp outside.

What would cause this and can it be easily disconnected. Also if disconnected will it stop the light flashing when locking unlocking??

General Car Chat / Road Tax Clarification
« on: 19 December 2011, 22:32:55 »
Not sure if any of you can advise me on this. My new mig goes for its vic test on Wednesday morning and I'm hoping to get it taxed and on the road in the afternoon (yes I know I will lose almost a months tax but needs must!), however I'm struggling working out what the tax will be.

It was registered on 19th march 2001 and is a 2.6 elite with 265 emissions. Now from what I can make out on the Directgov website it should be £460 per year but there is a secton further down the page that says 'Band k includes cars that have a co2 figure over 225g/km but we're registered before 23 march 2006' and band k is only £260 a year so which one is it??

Omega General Help / Re: Brake Problems - Master Cylinder

Well in that case it's staying with dot 4 but think I will bleed them again after 100 miles or so just to make sure there's no air in the system!

Next decision is whether to stick with dot 4 or flush it again with the expensive race fluid I've been given. The guy says it's ideal for my mig especially due to the size of her. He recons it will improve braking distance!

Well hopefully the last update on my brakes, I've replaced the master cylinder and completely bleed the entire system and I have brakes  :D

There not fantastic due to new pads all round and rusty discs due to how long she's been stood but I think after bedding in the new pads and cleaning the discs up they will be ok, believe me they are way better than they were!

Just headlight to dismantle and check if bulbs are seated properly ( due to high beam on drivers side) and she will be off for another mot!! :) :y

Thanks for all your help, especially Albs, top man  :y

Omega General Help / Brake Problems - Master Cylinder

Ok, I've just got round to removing the brake master cylinder off my 2001 2.6 and I have an urgent question::

The master cylinder I have removed has the numbers 2017 (symbol) 1 written underneath, however the one I bought off albs had 2017 (symbol) 2 written on it. Does this mean it's the wrong one or is it just a newer model????
