New PM turns up at the Palace in his 51 plate Omega, and very nice too.

« on: 18 June 2007, 18:12:40 »
Mines a 2.5TD estate facelift 2000. It returns around 32-35mpg just on short runs and hopefully around 40-45 on longer runs. I say hopefully on longer runs, as most of my longer runs are with the caravan attached, this returns roughly around 25-28mpg depending on road conditions, speed I travel and also how much weight etc I have in the caravan.
Before I had it serviced the figures were roughly 5mpg lower than this, it really is showing the benefit of that last service, and the addition of a double dosing of Redex.

How many weeks since you posted the parcel, and have you checked with the delivery office yourself or taken the recipient's word for it being lost?

I tow with a 2.5TD estate, it's a manual though. It tows my 18ft / MTPL 1460kg van ok. I get 25-28 mpg towing which is good for the size of the van. Beware you will probably not get anywhere near these  mpg figures with an auto petrol Omega. I don't know how suitable Omega autos are for towing but I think you would have to be careful not to wreck the box, I'm sure someone else could comment on that. Definately up to the job of towing, mine feels really safe and secure but of course it all depends on how it's all loaded, take care.

I used to stay with one company for car insurance, not anymore. As someone else put it some of them are right robbing @@++++ Now I always get alternative quotes, but make sure it's for a like for like cover. Would you believe this year alone I have saved myself almost £300 for switching car, building and home contents insurance cover.

Ok mines a diesel and not modified, I pay £218 with LV=Frizzell. Saved £88 by switching from Direct line. 75% NCD, protected NCD no matter how many claims, courtesy car, and £300 excess.

How much was it ?  Seems to have gone now.

£6495.......It's also on Autotrader DE postcode area. The ebay listing has ended, so don't know whether they have sold it.

Can confirm this is a good dealer, I have my Omega serviced there. Don't think they would sell anything dodgy. They are an independant Vauxhall dealer and turn around quite a few Omegas, so know what they are selling. I would happily buy from them, although a bit pricey.

Glad yours passed too. Mine also passed with just two advisories, adjust rear brake shoes (handbrake) and front brake pads will need replacing soon. Brake shoes have been done, and pads will be done soon.
