General Car Chat / Re: Which V8 ?
« on: 14 February 2017, 10:38:40 »
With all the potential expensive problems lurking around some of these vehicles such as the X5, Range Rover etc... Why not stick with something you know inside and out? If / when a very good example Omega pops up buy it. Job done. Unless you actually need a 4x4?  :-\

Makes you wonder doesn't it  :-\ I'm beginning to doubt buying one at all at the moment considering the poor feedback but then this is an omega owners perspective mainly  ;D I'll be keeping the Omega as ive spent a fortune on it  ::) and wont ever get the money back .. while it keeps passing the mot i dont see the point  :P

Maybe time to browse the V8 car section ..I do like the Ls400 and also the Mercedes-Benz CL 5.0.

Thanks chaps , looking online about the x5 it there seems to be an awful lot of cheap ones around and for good reason spares/repairs and costly parts  ::) Will be looking at the Jag engined L322s rangie .

What about the Range Rover 3ltr Diesel auto  :-\

I have a choice of 2 lined up ... 2005 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 petrol lpg

or :2005 BMW X5 4.4 Sport lpg , spring converted .

Ive heard a few good and bad about both but which one would you consider the best of the two  :-\

Or any other V8 4x4 to consider  :y

That's been chavv'd up, stupid boot spoiler and other bits.  :(

Yes that particular one does seem to have an odd looking rear spoiler ..could live with the rest , just an example car but do like the shape and whats under that bonnet  :)

Agreed. I'm getting past the boy racer stage now at 57, so a big luxury barge with lots of toys and reasonable grunt fits the bill nicely.
Still hoping to have an e38 740i, but decent ones seem to be rising in value, fast.

Yes im with that opinion . Ive always liked the old  LS400 , ok its not the best looking 0f cars but look at all the toys you get and those big comfy armchairs  :) Someone on here owned or owns one  :-\

Ign Coils are £140 each. There are eight of them. Their ECUs get upset by mobile phone networks... Just say no. Please. Save yourself.  :)

Thanks for that , never would have thought they would be so expensive  :o Looks like the 540 mite be on the cards , and this one looks a very good one :

Oil replaced with fully synthetic. Since I've done this, I've noticed a few seconds of lifter noise at startup, but it's no cause for concern as it disappears after literally a couple of seconds, and it also happened once before

The oil in mine was quite thick and dirty when i bought it .. but the engine was as quiet as a mouse . Since doing 3 quick oil changes mine too is tappety on start up .. also after treating with wynns its still tappety  :( Doesnt affect the cars running at all and the oil stainer was cleaned as well before the oil changes . I was thinking of putting a thicker oil in to see if it stops the noise  :-\ I have 10/40 semi skim in at the moment .
