My 23 year old son is looking for accommodation/flatshare in West London. He works in Chiswick and Knightsbridge. If you have any or know of any please let me know. TIA

May do actually... What’s his budget?

Do people seriously not investigate things before signing them off?

Omega defeated this morning - by 3ft snow drift which I left a lovely reverse image in. Never mind, just backed it up the hill back home.

That’s a different matter ;)

WTF is wrong with you people?  ???

RWD is fine in the snow. Both my Omega’s were fine. The HiLux I’m currently driving for work was firmly in 2WD until my road, and even then only to assist the turn at the end! :-X

Take some man up pills, learn to use the car and get on with it! ::)

Of course, if the concern is the other retards on the road that is a different story... ;)

Was having a bit of a struggle getting the Omega uphill off my drive this morning. Switched the TC off, and reversed straight out.
TC is officially shite.  ::)

Sounds like Lazydocker had one hell of a day, but a hell of a good earner too I should imagine.  :y
Was going to say "should have called in for a cuppa half way, but then looked at the times mentioned. Might have struggled to wake me.  ;D

The way the snow was coming down I’m not sure I could of found your place anyway!! 😂

It was a very long day and having only had 2 x 1 hour sleeps I’m a bit tired tonight and on my own with the kids but it’ll prove to be pretty lucrative 😉👍

Left home at 7am yesterday morning to a couple of inches, possibly 3, but not too bad. Got to the A12 and it was a bit slippery but nothing too severe. By the time I got to Hoddesdon at about 09:20 it was as if there hadn’t been any snow :-X ::)

By midday the 3 of us who were there for some practice and training (lock picking) were pulled off to go to a large transport company in Manor Park to drain as many vehicles as possible. There were 26 varying from Vito Vans up to 73 seat coaches - incorrect fuel delivered into their bulk tank. One guy left at about 19:30 to drive back to Stoke, having left at 5am. Myself and another stayed until 02:30 this morning and drained the 23 vehicles that were on site!

The drive home was a bit more eventful... Started snowing as we left to go our separate ways. Then eased as I headed up the M11 and across the A120, until Braintree. As soon as I got To Braintree it was like a wall of snow - complete whiteout and blizzard conditions! Followed an artic along an approximation of where the road went at the dizzying speeds of 20-30mph as the dumping of snow grew and grew and grew. Got to the A12 and there was no sign of where the road or lanes were so continued at the dizzying pace. Had to pass the artic as he was struggling for grip (but the snowfall had eased slightly) but suddenly hit an even stronger downpour! Completely lost sight of everything - couldn’t even see the barrier a few feet away! I suddenly became aware that what I was actually driving on (at about 10mph) was in fact a grass junction devider when the terrain got a bit bumpy 🙄

Continued on home and had to dodge numerous vehicles stuck due to lack of traction and divert off the main routes down some lanes to avoid an hour delay to arrive home at 05:15 this morning! What a mammoth day andrather cold to boot, having been out in it for 12 hours solid!!

Anyway... The evidence today is almost gone but now off until Saturday so enjoying some respite from “The Beast from the East”!!

Well it happens about once every 3 minutes so....
Rather than repeat what I said on another thread, can't your misfuel technicians just carry a rifle?

And what cars are the most popular for misfuelling?

Police cars......

JLR products, Merc, BMW, just about all of them to be dair ;)

ALL the breakdown companies have areas where the service is shockingly poor. AA and RAC will always try to use their own staff before a subcontractor, even if that means a wait. Green Flag used to be the best of the bunch but now they don’t use local garages they’re not always so hot.

I would be looking at something underwritten by Britannia Rescue or AXA. The ones handled by a company called Call Assist are pretty good too :y Basically, anything handled by local garages and preferably a company that doesn’t have any of its own breakdown staff/vehicles ;)

Britannia would be top of my list: they send the job, and expect the contractor to just deal with it.
Green Flag's service got a lot worse when they went to just one contractor covering a large area a few years ago.

we regularly used to get a dozen RAC jobs sent at 18:00 when they realised that their own people were due to finish and couldn't get to them without another 3 hours wait.

And 2 1/2 years after quitting the job, I'd still like to stick red hot needles in Call Assist's controllers - I don't think I ever did one of their jobs that wasn't grief from start to finish.

Yep. I believe Green Flag are looking at returning to smaller operators.

RAC are just a law unto themselves.

Call Assist aren’t too bad now, but we only deal with misfuel issues.
Hi all,how the fick do you miss fuel. It's diesel or petrol. ;D

Ignoring MK, there aren't too many places in the UK where under normal conditions you can really cook them if they are well maintained, without driving like a real loon, but you can easily get a bit close for comfort on a spirited country lane jaunt.

Apparently you can cook them running up from the M4 to Brackley, especially on the last few roundabouts :-X ::)
Only if the brakes aren't in good shape....    ...as I believe Mr Wood found out once.

If you've come off the motorway, your brakes wouldn't have had too much of a hammering for a while, so should be cool. There are 6 roundabouts (of sorts), 3 in quick succession, then about a 3 mile section to allow them to cool, and another 3 at 1 mile intervals.

To be fair, mine were changed shortly after ::)
