Will do Rob. Will I need a new gasket?

Ideally yes, but a thin streak of instant gasket around the original seal will do just as well if it isn't broken :y

Went and looked at it. It's still there. I'm still locked out.  :(

Brick/hand/smash ... least you get your wheels back then fix it later  :-\

I should get a proper breakdown company  ;)
Fixed :y

Ps. Hope that doesn't offend anyone... ::)

jesting aside, at least the car is still there and in one piece :y

This information was correct at about 1500 this afternoon.  ::)  Anything could happen in the meantime....  :-\

Opened it!  :y

Well, the chap involved says 'nothing to do with me mate' via his insurer - I'm angry now!  :-[ >:(

Well if you eventually prove that it was his vehicle (whether he was driving it or not he would know of any damage/scratching to his car) then he's just Officially dropped himself in the brown smelly stuff by denying any knowledge! I hope you get a good result & he gets his just deserts (if culpable) :y

Of course, I suppose his wife could have been driving the car that day.

Women do like their little accidents. ;) :D

Quite possibly M'Lud! But he would have to be aware of any damage however slight as Mr Plod has apparently been round to his gaff to enquire about the Failure to Stop :-\
I vote to hang the miscreant anyway, as even if he's innocent then Steve can sleep easier knowing someone has paid! :D ;)

The North East is getting a good dusting as I type, and it's forecast for at least 5cm over the Region tonight :-\
The way it's coming down here in Hartlepuddle and laying very well, I would imagine the weather man could be erring on the light side ??? I don't think the actual snowfall will give you any probs, but be vigilant of the brain dead & homicidal maniacs among the general populous! Have a safe journey  :y

It's been very cold but dry all day, so I was going to treat the garage to a coat of white paint when I got back home, and after a cuppa & a few biccies out I went brush in hand, only to find that God is very kindly doing it for me! And a bloody thorough job He's doing too!!;D

Omega General Help / Re: Ticking exhaust manifold
« on: 28 January 2015, 14:37:24 »
You don't need a new head ??? ;)
You may need to remove the head to get at the snapped studs, you may be lucky with them being right at the front end :D
Also, if the manifold is really hot when you present for the MOT and the leak is minimal/can't be seen/heard, then you may get away with it. Btw, have you removed the manifold heat shield to check whether or not the manifold itself has cracked? This appears to be a 'rite of passage' on the 2.2 and as Al said, repair is not worth the trouble as it will crack again in short order! Hope you get it sorted cheaply  :y
