Newbie Welcome Area / Glad to be back!
« on: 09 April 2013, 22:14:51 »
This is more a re-acquaintance really.
I don’t think I’ve been on this forum for 3 or 4 years, since I got rid of my last barge.
Was trawling a remembered how much time I used to spend on here.
Still recognise a few of the names, and glad to see that so many barges are still on the go.
I think I’ll try to spend a bit more time on here, if it’s okay with you guys, although I don’t even drive a motor with a griffin on the front any more.

Sounds expensive whether its injectors or possibly fuel pump!
Can you get it to a diesel specialist?

Right a question for the experts.   ;D

Is there any truth in the rumours that Stanav systems with the Sirf star III chipset, are less likely to suffer with respect to signal strength, through these coated windscreens?

Thanks chaps!

I could only ever get vodaphone to work, although I have heard that a Tesco-mobile PAYG card will work as well. I may well try that sometime.

Hello
Can any body help me with a problem on my 1999 omega 3.0 elite.when i turn off the ignition the heater fan keeps on going, also it keeps on speeding up and slowing down when engine is running,i have to remove the fuse when leaving the car.
many thanks
Dave.
I have noticed that sometimes mine does the same, sometimes, and had assumed that it was disapating any energy stored in the system. The fans will only stay on for 5 to 10 seconds though at most.
I presume that from what you are saying your fan will stay on forever, if you don't remove the fuse.

I wonder whether it could be fitted to a uk model.

Sorry for the thread hijack nixoro, but have you seen that theres around 35 pages of that guide devoted to using a seatbelt correctly, in that PDF link ....... there must be more to it than I thought.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Radio Reception Advice
« on: 13 July 2006, 10:16:45 »
I am no expert but I would think that if reception is crap at the moment then it will still be crap with a new DAB unit.
First place I would check is in behind the head unit, to make sure all the connections are sound.

Stupid question here, but here goes.
Have you put the CD's in the correct way round?

There isn't a dip-stick for the engine oil ........ another nice design feature missed completely by Vx. >:(  >:(

There should be a bolt on the upper quarter, if the oil is just about overflowing when you remove this then the fluid level is fine.

I'm sure theres a picture of said bolt around this forum somewhere I'll go and have a look.

I think you mean gearbox oil dipstick  ;D

Anyway I also noticed today my engine oil was very low on the engine dipstick, so I put a litre in and the autobox warning on my dash display went off and has not appeared again...........................................................so my question is does the engine and gearbox use the same oil as there appears to be no entry point to put gearbox fluid in  :o

Kevin

Oooops ............ guess I'm the dipstick then!  :-[  :'(  ::)
Glad you understood the meaning though!
Cheers!   :y  :y

Omega General Help / Air Con - A quick question
« on: 31 May 2007, 17:42:32 »
Right, as a stop gap measrure I am going to use on of these new fangled DIY air con refil cans (you know, the sort you get from Halfrauds).  :-[  :-/

My question is this : having a quick look under bonnet there appears to be 2 schrader valves : a high level one and a low level one ( i presume one is to and other is from the unit). Which one do I use to refill.

I am giving myself another couple of months to decide if the barge is staying with me or not, and as I am pretty sure that it's never had a A/C refill in it's 8 year life, this should give me some time to make my decision.

Cheers boys & girls

I think leather was an optional extra on the 2.5 elite, but standard on the 3.0.
But I know this probably doesn't help at all.
