General Car Chat / Corsa Rear Brakes: How much!!!!
« on: 13 April 2019, 10:46:44 »
Hello all.
I am over there at the moment (Mallorca) and the Corsa failed the ITV for faulty rear brakes after being left for 9 months. Put it into local garage this week and got it back yesterday with a bill for €350 (around £310). That included both sets rear pads, cylinders, springs etc. Does my fellow Oofers think that is a fair price or not? TIA.  :y :y

Hi! After being in OZ for a couple of months, I now have the same problem as Jan. I disconnected the battery for the 2 months and on reconnecting I found that the interior lights do not work at all. That includes the boot light. All relevant fuses are ok. I have tried to find relays K143/K154. Where are they? Thanks in advance.  :y

RE: cars ITV (MOT) I took mine to the ITV station last November in Inca Mallorca. Passed through the garage (you drive through yourself here) and got through to the other end. The guy hands the docket to the other guy who issues the sticker you put on the windscreen if you pass. No sticker! Guy says your number plate has the wrong number! What!!! I have had the car since new. Anyway long story short, €40 later for a new plate which you cannot make up yourself, you have to go through a government system. Doh!!!  >:( >:( You could not make it up.

Cheers CIH! Yes I have been checking all the levels. I drove around 10 miles yesterday and there was no problem at all. No misfires or smoke! No trouble codes at all, only the indication of the MIL in the Scanmaster app as said in my first post.  :y

Hi tuunie! Yes they are dry. I had this problem a while back when 1 bank had water in it. It did not have the symtoms though, ie. white smoke/steam.

Omega General Help / Misfire and White Smoke
« on: 22 February 2018, 11:10:39 »
Hello again guys! Yesterday afternoon jumped into car and started her up, a couple of misfires when I stared moving. Then the MIL came on and a lot of white smoke came out of exhaust and seemed to be firing on 3 cylinders. I managed to get her home. This morning started her up, no problem at all. Waited until temps were up and then connected Scanmaster, no problem codes. But at the bottom of the scanner prog it indicated "distance travelled with MIL on 1km" Anybody got any idea what is going on? TIA.  :y

Hi guys! I started the car this morning and the heater fan is working again. So it looks like the hedgehog is the problem rather than the fan motor. Cheers guys.  :y :y

Omega General Help / Hedgehog!
« on: 24 January 2018, 10:56:18 »
Hi guys! After a week with the Omega stuck in the snow, I managed to get it out yesterday. I drove it to the village with everything working ok, parked up for a couple of hours and jumped in to drive back home. No heater fan! Everything else works ok, panel lights etc. Now we have floods here but I did a reset, and checked fuse 33, all ok. Scuttle is clear. I am thinking it is the hedgehog! now where is the damn thing? and how to get to it? Cheers...TIA.  :y
