Hello everyone,I ama 30 yr old single nurse and am thinking of buying an Omega, (new to the forum) and thought I would come onhere to get some inside info from the guys and gals who know but having read through most of the threads on here I am ashamed and disgusted at the way you are treating Bill Oddie who obviously needs you help and assistance but clearly isn't getting it!!, I would hope that should I need advice that it would be clear and concise and possibly helpful.
I don't want to be ridiculed.

Cant really do a useful rollcage without losing the rear seats  :(

Best thing to do is carry 2 cans of expanding foam (per passenger) and stick one each side of the chair. Then, if you do get a 'wobble on' and suspect the worse, shout 'cans!' and everyone should deploy the contents of each can around them.

This will fill the cabin area while protectintg any one inside from any implosive reaction from the roof  :y

the ability to breathe afterwards is negligable  ;D ;D

A roll cage for the caravan would stop it disintergrating and spreading crap all over the road. In fact, it should be a legal requirement come to think of it :y

there is atually some sense in that, as caravans involved in accidents fold like soggy recyled cornflakes boxes, a simple timber frame isnt sufficient. altho i realise its purely for weight reasons.

 :)

Thanks Lizzie, I meant to add "on 'A' class roads" but forgot in a moment of madness, genuinely caused by the thought of someone driving at 80+ with a caravan.

I have seen first hand what happens due to speed while towing, so this is a subject that causes me much distress.

Certain circumstances ie weight ratios in Europe allow you to tow at similar speeds though.  ;)

Aye well that may be the case in europe, but Id Like to think we can drive better and safer than them.

and I corrected my speed limit mistake in the post above yours,  :y

I have a 3.1L V6 Omega Elite 2005 plate.

I use it to tow my caravan and it performs great, but im concerned about if i manage to get a bit of a ''tank slapper'' on when towing it and thus potentially flipping the car, if im doing say 70/80mph-ish on the motorway, so im considering fitting a roll cage to the interior.

Can anyone recommend any roll cages for my Omega?

Funny how the last production run of the omega was 2004, and also 3.0 and 3.2 variants.   ::)

Police wouldnt pull you for doing 70mph on the motorway. Youd even get away with 80mph.

I think anything over 80mph they tend to look at you.

Believe me they will as you are exceeding the 60 mph limit.

First of all I dunno if this thread is a piss take or not.

The maximum legal speed for towing a trailer/caravan on UK roads is 50mph not 60.

also if you are planning on doing 80mph with a caravan i hope the hell you are nowhere near me.

A roll cage might save YOU if you flip it, but it wont save the other poor people on the roads that you wipe out.

Drive safe!
