best lift for me was in alton towers hotel
got in doors closed, short time later doors open nothing strange about that you might say but there was no sensation of the lift moveing.
I was so determined to feel this lift move  so spent about 20 mins going up and down, the mrs disowned me[again] never felt it move think it must have been magic!

my sister who is a mine of strange info says to run it but fill it up with cardboard boxes, this will  make the freezer run efficiency and when you buy food just replace a box,
anybody else heard of this?or is it a urban myth?

« on: 20 April 2014, 15:13:24 »
helped a mate to move today and he had a chest freezer that he tried to sell but no one wanted so hes given it to me.now I dont really need one but at Christmas it would be usefull so whats the best way to store  it so it dosnt smell etc
1 leave it will the lid up,but as its going in the garage lots of stuff might get in there
2 leave it with the lid down but will it start smelling?
3 switch it on,but will that use lots of electric with it being empty and it might just freeze up
4 any ideas?
cheers

I guess that is wrong of me but I think of insurance as being there for big accidents etc.

but if you don't tell them and you havea big accident and they find out they might not pay out.

A prat nav is an aid for you driver not the bible, by a bridge heights map,and some good ol fashioned AtoZ,. Councils put up and take down signs like there going out of fashion, also what would you do if the road the prat nav says to take is closed,or just unsuitable,..

Just buy a normal sat nav and some maps.

ah I see you only drive from home to the hospital.

when you in a strange place and don't know where you going then having to turn round because a bridge is to low just wastes time and fuel, also finding somewhere to park to  look at your map then rember the route  is not very practical [also carrying all the maps for the uk costs more than a sat nav and is just as likely to be out of date]as driving while trying to look at a map is not a good idea.of course if the road is closed the sat nav will also find a route round.yes a sat nav isn't perfect but as long as you keep your wits about you its a good drivers aid.

General Discussion Area / sat nav help on a computer/tablet
« on: 07 April 2014, 19:22:46 »
I need a hgv sat nav but they seam to cost a lot of money but was talking to a truck driver today who had a notepad computer with "navigater 9" and a gps sensor to pick up the sat navs and needed no internet connection. and he said it was great.now I have a kindle that my mrs bought for me  that I havnt taken out of the box yet,but from a quick search on the net it dosnt look like it will work.
so if I do get a notepad do I need to look for any special features?or can some tablets run as sat navs? and where do you get a gps sensor from
any advice
cheers
