Omega General Help / Re: Cam Sensor?
« on: 03 March 2012, 15:20:36 »
Had the same engine previously and same problems.
First try cleaning your old sensor and reffiting it if you still have it.
I've had problems with my previous 2.2 mig, code reader pointed at cam sensor.
Fitted new one and car worked like a tractor.
Refitted old one and car was fine most of the time although error on cam sensor came on once a month usually after the car had a run and engine was warm.
after restarting once or twice it would go away.

General Car Chat / Re: Bilstein b4+steinmetz shock
« on: 03 March 2012, 15:08:47 »
Just ordered front b4 bilstein for my mig, waiting for them to arrive.
But I gave last of the money for them  so now I 'm broke >:(
Was quite surprised how cheap they are here.
100 pounds for both front shocks

Omega General Help / oil on engine tap 2.5td??
« on: 03 March 2012, 14:00:01 »
Got an idiotic problem.
There is oil comming out on engine tap, not in big quantity but it is noticeable.
Since I only recently bough th car I have no idea what couold be the problem.
There is also small quantity of oil coming in front of the engine near starter motor but I'm guessing this is only a gasket problem.
Have no idea why is it comming out on engine tap.
Car has around 110 000 miles on the clock (hd last five years checked in MOT office before I bough it and mileage seems true).
Front shocks are dead so there is lot of movement on bumps but cannot see this being the reason for oil on tap.
New shocks are ordered but still havent arrived.
Also outside temp sensor is acting like a drunk person and sometimes it works ok sometimes shows like I'm in Siberia (cannot see this being related to engine tap).
Oil was replaced some 500 km ago and is already quite black  :(
But the engine works like a charm (appart from lift pump which sometimes causes problems and will need to be replaced in near future or thoroughly cleaned again).
Does anyone have an idea what is the problem?
Is it possible the mechanic put too much oil in and is now getting out?
The tap itself is buggered?
I know there ere several topics related to engine flush or better said against it, but Is this tap leak related to too much gunk in the engine and if it is what could be the best action to take?

General Car Chat / Re: A6 or Phaeton?
« on: 29 February 2012, 23:39:11 »
I seem to recall a post here that mentionet shocks for phaeton were ridiculously expensive.
Phaeton looks great but audi maintenance costs and spare parts availability are definitely better so...

General Car Chat / Re: Favourite car you've owned
« on: 29 February 2012, 23:25:51 »
maybe some guys will laugh at this but mine was old fiat Croma.
Lousy amd I mean lousy plastic interior, but it was quite comfortable, went well, secure(I had a direct collision with the car from other direction which hit my passenger side) The fiat was repaired relatively cheaply and didnt suffer much damage. Other car was Kadett and it was written of, luckily no one was injured.
The engine never halted even when it lost all oil and I mean all.
Even then only small repair was necessary.

General Car Chat / Re: Beware Audis
« on: 29 February 2012, 23:18:25 »
Maybe I'm a little late with response on this subject but I've seen same audi cars here with same problems.
2.0TDI engines seem to be sh..
Saw recently one in my friends garage (who is a mechanic) and he said that the guy spent a fortune on car maintenance.
Engine problems, gearbox problems, turbine...

Omega General Help / Re: rear shocks 2ltr f/l saloon

And here the price for pair was around 80 quid when converted in UK currency.
Guess the price will be the same there or even less

Had both KYB(Kayaba) and Bilstein.
From experience I would recommend Bilstein B4.
Probably the best shocks for a decent price

RobG can the motors be tested in any way with the faulty sensor?
Also how much would you want for them (with postage)?

195
If anyone can help,
I need front hid sensor (for sure) cause the bloody thing is broken and missing a plastic bit where the hid arm is connected.
Also maybe need hid motors plus maybe even a rear sensor.
If anyone is willing to sell this for a reasonable price send me a pm.
Sensor or sensor+motors should be shipped to Croatia via ordinary mail since price is a big issue(in a small package or an envelope so please check postage costs).
Thanks n advance
