the actual screw is no problem to obtain . it,s those rectangular bits that the screws - screw into. personally i still think the vx chappie didn,t want to leave is chair to look in the general stock as i think all vx trays maybe held in situ using 8mm screws & these rectangular s/searchers. :-/

General Car Chat / td trays
« on: 16 June 2009, 08:37:54 »
recentley taken off the trays underneath the car, as they were hanging low. the screw searchers were shot. tried to get some more locally from vx but was told although there ,s a part No the screw searchers are no longer available. i personally think the guy at vx is just an awkward sod , reason being if a car is ten years old or more he points the fact out to me. also i helped a mate change a engine in a zafira and those poxy little 8mm self tapping screws were the same setup. sorry this thread is so long winded over such a little issue but i,d prefer the tray back in situ to protect the a/c plumbing.

Meetings, gatherings, parties etc / Re: york meet
« on: 29 April 2009, 09:39:55 »
i believe there ara delays on the A64 just before york. i,m sure the highways agency saves this work for bank holidays. take my word for it via wetherby is easier and faster in the daytime. (especially now the by-pass is up and running)   :) :) :)

anybody travelling to the york meeting from the north or south may want to have a look at exiting the A1-M1 at wetherby, and follow the york signs. approx a 10-15 minutes drive to rufforth its the b1224 but the road is ok. you will avoid a congested A64 and an almost certain crowded york outer ringroad. :y

General Discussion Area / car rust
« on: 08 August 2011, 11:15:30 »
had a guy doing the rust on my tractor ,cutting it away, welding new metal and the finish. the job entailed both rear doors ,both rear posts, rear wheel arches, & a small dent on top of the n/s wing. he had the car from monday to the saturday. i,m really pleased to say that he has done an excellent job. he admitted to me that he got a bit carried away & did everything he could see, without charging me extra. all for £200. if you live in the york area & need a tidy up job pm me & i,ll give you his number. he,s situated about 5mls east of york.  :y :y
