Well I finally got round to sorting out the pump seals.

Was a bit of a pig to do, trying to locate the bottom section back with the pump is a pain, you can't see anything and have to do it by feel. but after a lot of fiddling I got it sorted.

All seems to be good, but haven't taken it for a drive yet.

Omega General Help / Safari parks are not good for your car !
« on: 20 September 2015, 18:10:38 »
Went to Long Leat safari park the other week, and on returning home found that there must have been an Omega loving monkey there, as I have lost the rear bump strip from the drivers side. Not a big deal I thought, until I have tried to find a replacement. It would seem that some Omega parts are now starting to become hard to find.

If anyone can help, I'm looking for the drivers side section in the photo, as the car looks sh** with it missing.

Omega General Help / 2.5TD vs 2.2TDI
« on: 16 September 2015, 15:00:41 »
Been offered a 2.2dti to replace my 2.5td but don't know if it is worth changing car.

What are the pros and cons of both models.

My current 2.5td has been chiped and gives on average 32mpg urban 42mpg motorway, how does this compare with the 2.2?

Thanks for any advice.

I am away at the moment, but I'll get the part number when I'm home next week.
They were listed for both manual and auto levelling systems.

Thought this may be of interest to some members.

Been down local Vauxhall dealers today to see about getting some new air assisted rear shocks for my Omega.

£250/pair normal retail price, but only £164 with trade club.

The only after market ones I could find where Monroe ones at £208 from Ebay.

Omega General Help / Steering idler arm
« on: 28 August 2015, 12:51:38 »
I replaced the steering idler arm on my omega last year, and have only done around 12000 mile since, but it now needs replacing again. Is this normal? I would have expected it to last longer.

All so, is the idler arm drop link available? ( the bit the idler arm bolts to) as I wonder if this will also need replacing.

Thank for advice.

I do realize that it is most probably the micro switches, but it would be quicker to just change the motors if I can find them for the right price.

As said above if I search for Corsa B, instead of Omega, the part is coming up £10 - £20 cheaper.

Been looking around for a replacement CL motor for the Omega, and have found that the Corsa B uses the same part number but seem to be cheaper.

Does any body know what all the different numbers mean on the part in the pic.

I have found 3 different motors all with the same numbers except for the last number 40/98, this number changes to 15/96 or 04/00. What is this number ?

Thank for any help.

Thanks for the reply.

Took key fob apart this morning and found you are correct. The battery holder has  detached from the pcb board. Contacted Martin Imber to arrange to get this fixed.

I did manage to get the fob to work, (holding the battery down), but found that both the front doors locks did not work. Does this mean that I need to replace both locking motors in the front doors?

Thanks again for any info.

Thanks for the offer Keith, but I'm going to get it re-gased and see how I get on.
