Yep, that's a fair comment Mark.

The guy at the tyre place reckons that they get them from Germany where lots of people just fit new ones rather than hang on to the old ones when they swap winter tyres for summer...  ::)

It might be good story though and I can see your point of view! Thanks :y

I bought 4 part worn Continental tyres today.....

They let me have a good look at them before they were fitted and they all have 4 - 5 mm of tread left, and are generally in good condition... :y

The 4 tyres cost £120 fitted and balanced which I'm pretty pleased with, and I'm hoping being a good brand that they'll last nearly as long as a cheapo set!!

What do you think Guy's and Gals??  :-?

Seems like a bit of a sin to me....  :'(

There was a thing on Countryfile last night how there's been a spate of Landrover Defenders getting stolen from farms and then getting stripped for parts.  Seems the Defender is very easy to break as it's basically a big mechano set... :-/

There was a company converting trucks to CNG a while back and they had a few filling stations at motorway service stations.  There was one at the services just before the old Severn bridge on the M48.

Not sure if they're still about, but they did a package deal ie convert the trucks and install a CNG tank in the yard. They also sold converted trucks and I remember that they had a few ERF's on their website  ::)

If I remember rightly the difference in price between diesel and CNG was considerable, but in my trucking days I only ever spotted one converted truck! and that was an old ERF before they were rebadged MAN's!

I'd have thought if it was worth doing then the likes of Stobarts would have been all over it  :-/  Maybe with todays inflated fuel prices it might be worthwhile and it's greener than diesel :y

I was on my way to Bristol the other day and thought I had enough gas to get to Cribbs, but BEEEEP!!! ran out just before Taunton, luckily I was just by an Esso station that sells lpg and put a tenners worth in at 79p, that got me to Cribbs ASDA where I filled up at 68p!!!

When I first had my Mig 5 years ago I was paying 34p at Cribbs ASDA!! Its abit sad that I'm starting to think about how much to put in, and how far the next place is cause its abit (or alot) cheaper... Heyho thats progress I suppose  :(

I had a Fiat Uno a few years back, and was doing quite a few miles at the time, but did very little maintainence..... I think I treated it to a couple of new tyres and that was it and never got let down. Great little car  :y :y :y

Have you checked your breathers Albs? I think I've seen on here that blocked breathers can affect the fuel consumption? As well as blowing the dreaded camcover gaskets!!  :(

Also have you checked the consumption on petrol?

Interesting that they don't pay for 3 days unless you pay a fee....  :o Nobody in their right mind would release a car on a private sale until you've got the cash....  :(

It all sounds a potential nightmare to me and well worth avoiding.... [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

Has anyone used this mob?  I'm guessing their offers are extremly low, but just wondering if anyone here has used them?

My mate has moved to Singapore and wants to sell his Audi TT quickly and easily...  :-/
